Matt Seimears is Associate Chair <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Elementary,<br />

Early Childhood, and Special <strong>Education</strong> at The Teachers<br />

<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Emporia State <strong>University</strong> in Emporia, Kansas, where<br />

he has taught since 2004. Dr. Seimears earned undergraduate<br />

degrees at Pittsburg State <strong>University</strong> and Newman <strong>University</strong>,<br />

a master’s degree in education at Wichita State <strong>University</strong>, and<br />

his Ph.D at Kansas State <strong>University</strong>, with a concentration on<br />

English Language Learners and Science <strong>Education</strong>. He has<br />

presented at numerous PDS National Conferences in the last six<br />

years and most recently has begun examining new forms <strong>of</strong><br />

technology which he believes will greatly enhance Pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

Development School experiences for all stakeholders and<br />

help us more effectively connect teacher candidates, mentors,<br />

and building administrators. We are pleased to have Dr.<br />

Seimears share his ideas on the subject <strong>of</strong> “Where are Pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

Development Schools Headed in the Digital Age?” with<br />

this year’s <strong>conference</strong> attendees.<br />
