Where are Professional Development Schools Headed in
the Digital Age?
C. Matt Seimears, Emporia State University
Matt Seimears is Associate Chair of the Department of Elementary,
Early Childhood, and Special Education at The Teachers
College of Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, where
he has taught since 2004. Dr. Seimears earned undergraduate
degrees at Pittsburg State University and Newman University,
a master’s degree in education at Wichita State University, and
his Ph.D at Kansas State University, with a concentration on
English Language Learners and Science Education. He has
presented at numerous PDS National Conferences in the last six
years and most recently has begun examining new forms of
technology which he believes will greatly enhance Professional
Development School experiences for all stakeholders and
help us more effectively connect teacher candidates, mentors,
and building administrators. We are pleased to have Dr.
Seimears share his ideas on the subject of “Where are Professional
Development Schools Headed in the Digital Age?” with
this year’s conference attendees.
