The installation program adds the following to the AUTOEXEC.BAT :
SET CTCM=
\CTCU /S /W=
where and are the directories where
your CTCM/CTCU and Windows 3.x files are installed respectively.
For more details on how the CTCM and CTCU commands work, please
read “Creative PnP Configuration Software” in Appendix B.
Installing the CD-ROM Drive Software
The CD-ROM software includes the QuickCD application and two
drivers that control your CD-ROM drive.
To install the CD-ROM software:
1. Insert the CD-ROM installation disk into a floppy disk drive.
2. At the DOS prompt, type A: or B: and press the ENTER key.
Type INSTALL and press the ENTER key.
3. Press the F2 key to view the README file. When you are
finished, press the ESC key to return to the main menu.
4. Press the ENTER key to begin the installation.
5. The installation program asks for the directory in which the
CD-ROM drive software is to be installed. The default is
C:\SBCD. Accept the default or follow the instructions
on-screen to change the directory.
6. When requested, enter the boot drive for your computer; the
default is C:. Press the ENTER key when the name of the
directory and the boot drive are correct.
After the CD-ROM software is installed, the program adds lines to
AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS. (See Appendix B, “Windows
3.1/DOS CD-ROM Drivers,” for more information.) You must reboot
your computer for the newly installed drivers to take effect.
