Insert the CD-ROM interface card (Figure 1-6): Align the tabs on the bottom of the card with the socket on the computer board and the metal bracket with the external opening, then push down on the top of the card. The card should slide in smoothly; the top of the metal bracket should match the slot screw hole. 5. Use the screw from the slot cover to secure the CD-ROM interface card to the frame of the computer. (Securing the card with the screw assures it is properly grounded.) The data cable is designed to fit into the CD-ROM connector only when inserted in the correct position; if the connectors do not match, turn over the data cable connector and try again.
