6 - Working with ASIO<br />
Basic Recording<br />
Record a Track<br />
20. Press Record on the Cubasis Transport control and start playing. There will be a two<br />
bar count-in before recording starts.<br />
21. Press Stop (or hit the space bar) when you’re finished recording the first track.<br />
22. Press the Return-to-Zero button on the Cubasis Transport (or tap the space bar<br />
twice).<br />
23. Press Play on the Cubasis Transport to play back your track.<br />
Record Another Track<br />
24. Return to Zero by tapping the space bar twice.<br />
25. Select the next track to record by clicking the appropriate track in the Arranger<br />
window. Remember to choose the appropriate side (L or R) if recording in mono or<br />
choose a stereo track if recording in stereo.<br />
26. Press Record on the Cubasis transport and start playing. You’ll hear the first track as<br />
well as what you’re playing.<br />
27. Press Stop (or hit the space bar) when you’re finished recording.<br />
ASIO Recording Checklist - Cubasis<br />
An ASIO Send is inserted into a PatchMix DSP Mixer strip.<br />
E-MU ASIO is selected (Options, Audio Setup, Audio System Setup)<br />
ASIO Buffer Latency is set to 5 ms or lower (depending on the speed of your computer).<br />
(Options, Audio Setup, Audio System Setup, ASIO Control Panel)<br />
Play in Background enabled. (Options menu)<br />
Enable Monitor is selected. (Options menu, Audio Setup)<br />
Record Enable is turned on for the track you want to record. (Use Inspector button, then<br />
click on Enable, illuminating the button.)<br />
VST Inputs are selected. (Panels menu, VST Inputs)<br />
Bring up the VST Channel Mixer. Turn Input Meter button on.<br />
Master Mixer output assigned to ASIO 31/32.<br />
An ASIO Strip on ASIO 31/32 exists in the PatchMix DSP Mixer.<br />
Monitor button is selected on the channel you are recording. See the diagram on<br />
page 57<br />
