6 - Working with ASIO<br />
Basic Recording<br />
Select the Audio Files Folder<br />
Choose the location where your audio files will be stored. It’s usually a good idea to do<br />
this step first as if you were, “Putting the tape reels on your recorder.”<br />
9. Go to Options, Audio Setup, Audio Files Folder.<br />
10. Choose any location that you will be able to find later. A fast, “non-boot” drive is<br />
usually preferable for recording audio files.<br />

11. Set the Audio System Settings and ASIO Settings as shown below.<br />

E-MU ASIO Control Panel Settings<br />
Click the ASIO Control Panel button to set the ASIO Buffer Latency.<br />
12. ASIO Buffer Latency should be set to 5 milliseconds or less, depending on the speed<br />
of your computer’s CPU. This controls adjusts the amount of delay incurred transferring<br />
audio between the Digital Audio System hardware and Cubasis.<br />
13. Turn Enable Monitor on. This is located under Options, Audio Setup.<br />
