Appointments are made as per GOI Rules.<br />
During employment they are engaged on only<br />
those jobs which they can perform or they<br />

BBMB<br />
BBMB discharges its functions as laid down in<br />
Section 79(1) <strong>of</strong> the Punjab Re-organization Act,<br />
1966 for which staff for the operation &<br />
maintenance <strong>of</strong> BBMB work is provided by<br />
partner State Govts./SEBs on transfer basis.<br />
However, in the event <strong>of</strong> inability <strong>of</strong> partner<br />
States/SEBs to provide the requisite staff, BBMB<br />
resorts to direct recruitment & promotion in<br />
respect <strong>of</strong> Class III & IV employees only as<br />
Officers <strong>of</strong> Class I & II category are being<br />
provided by partner States/SEBs. BBMB Class<br />
III & Class IV Employees (Recruitment &<br />
Conditions <strong>of</strong> Service) Regulations, 1994 were<br />
approved by the Central Govt. & published in<br />
Part-Ill Section 4 <strong>of</strong> the Gazette <strong>of</strong> India dated<br />
CPRI<br />
No. <strong>of</strong> physically Challenged employees in the Institute on 31.03.2004<br />
8.10.1994. As per Regulation 11 <strong>of</strong> these<br />
Regulations, the members belonging to SC, ST.<br />
BC, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped<br />
persons and the dependents <strong>of</strong> deceased<br />
employees in the service shall have the<br />
reservation in the service & all other concessions<br />
as prescribed by the Punjab Govt. from time to<br />
time. Accordingly, in view <strong>of</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> Rule 6<br />
<strong>of</strong> BBMB Rules, 1974 & Regulation 11 <strong>of</strong> BBMB<br />
Class III & Class IV Employees (Recruitment &<br />
Conditions <strong>of</strong> Service) Regulations, 1994, BBMB<br />
is following the reservation policy <strong>of</strong> Punjab Govt.<br />
issued from time to time in regard to<br />
implementation <strong>of</strong> provision <strong>of</strong> reservation in jobs<br />
for physically handicapped persons. According<br />
to the instructions <strong>of</strong> the Punjab Govt., 3%<br />
vacancies to be filled up by direct recruitment<br />
reserved for physically handicapped persons 1%<br />
each in the category <strong>of</strong> blind, deaf & dumb and<br />
orthopaedically handicapped. We have issued<br />
instructions to all CEs that the policy instructions<br />
<strong>of</strong> Punjab Govt. regarding reservation for persons<br />
with disability issued from time to time may be<br />
followed strictly at the time <strong>of</strong> making direct<br />
recruitment and also to ensure that reservation<br />
<strong>of</strong> persons with disabilities does not lapse.<br />

Further, instructions <strong>of</strong> the Government <strong>of</strong> India on the subject were followed.<br />
Shri Suresha, Attendant Grade I, participated in the BRITISH OPEN ATHELETICS FOR PHYSICALLY<br />
HANDICAPPED which was held at Burmingham, UK, from 16-17 August,2003 and SWISS WHEEL CHAIR<br />
CHAMPIONSHIP which was held at Langenthal, Switzerland, from 30-31 August,2003 and has won several<br />
individual awards.<br />
NPTI<br />
Out <strong>of</strong> the seven posts identified for Physically handicapped candidates in group ‘C & ‘D categories, five<br />
are already filled up. Action to fill up the remaning 2 posts (one Steno. Gr.III and one Attendent) has<br />
already been initiated.<br />
