Infrastructural facilities viz., roads, field<br />
hostel, some residential buildings,<br />
primary school, CISF quarters, Bank,<br />
Post <strong>of</strong>fice, Police Post and shopping<br />
complex have been constructed.<br />
The 33 KV line from Chamba and<br />
Bhagirathi Puram to Project site has been<br />
constructed. The 33 KV sub-station and<br />
11 KV line to Project site is in operation.<br />
Civil Works<br />
The Diversion Tunnel has been<br />
constructed and Bhagirathi River diverted<br />
in Dec.,2003. Construction <strong>of</strong> u/s C<strong>of</strong>fer<br />
Dam is in progress and has been raised<br />
to EL 550 m.<br />
The main Civil Works package has been<br />
awarded to M/s PCL Intertech-Lenhydro<br />
Consortium JV in August’02. The work is<br />
in progress.<br />
The Open Excavation for Dam, Spillways<br />
and Surface <strong>Power</strong> House is in progress.<br />
Out <strong>of</strong> total Open Excavation <strong>of</strong> 49.86<br />
Lac. cum., a quantity <strong>of</strong> 26 Lac. Cum.<br />
has been executed for Dam, Spillways<br />
and <strong>Power</strong> Intakes.<br />
c) HM Works<br />
Hydro-Mechanical Packages for Diversion<br />
Tunnel Gate has been awarded to<br />
M/s TSPL. Fixing <strong>of</strong> second stage<br />
Embedments for Diversion Tunnel Gate<br />
has been completed.<br />
Award for other packages <strong>of</strong> Hydro-<br />
Mechanical Equipment is under process.<br />
d) E&M Works<br />
The Electro-Mechanical Equipment<br />
package has been , awarded to M/s<br />
BHEL in Feb.’03 & work is in progress.<br />
Model testing <strong>of</strong> turbine is in progress.<br />
COMMISSIONING SCHEDULE<br />
The Project is scheduled for commissioning in<br />
the year 2006-07. EXPENDITURE Total<br />
expenditure incurred on Koteshwar HEP (400<br />
MW) upto March.2004 is Rs.221.05 cr.<br />
(Provisional). TEHRI PUMP STORAGE PLANT<br />
(PSP) 1000 MW The Pump Storage Plant<br />
envisages 4 reversible units <strong>of</strong> 250 MW each.<br />
The main feature <strong>of</strong> the Project is the large<br />
variation <strong>of</strong> about 90 m between the maximum<br />
and minimum head, under which the reversible<br />
units shall operate. Certain essential works <strong>of</strong><br />
PSP were taken up alongwith the execution <strong>of</strong><br />
Stage-l works. The HRT & Intakes for Head Race<br />
Tunnels for PSP are being constructed alongwith<br />
the Stage-l works. The Transformer Hall<br />
constructed in Stage-l would also serve for PSP.<br />
Thus, major Civil Works to be taken up in PSP<br />
involve only the Machine Hall, Tail Race Tunnels,<br />
Upstream & Downstream Surge Shafts and<br />
Penstocks. The updated Cost Estimate for Rs.<br />
1799.67 Cr. at March,02 Price Level prepared<br />
by THDC has been cleared by CEA. Pre - PIB<br />
meeting has already been held and the Proposal<br />
for PIB approval for implementation <strong>of</strong> Project is<br />
under process. COMMISSIONING SCHEDULE<br />
The Project is scheduled for commissioning in<br />
4 1 / 2 years after the investment approval.<br />
NEW PROJECTS<br />
Vishnu Gad Pipalkoti (340 MW)<br />
Govt. <strong>of</strong> Uttaranchal have entrusted the 340 MW<br />
Vishnu Gad Pipalkoti Project to THDC for<br />
implementation. MOEF has accorded site<br />
clearance for undertaking Survey & Investigation<br />
and for collection <strong>of</strong> environmental data for<br />
preparation <strong>of</strong> feasibility report, and necessary<br />
funds for the Survey & Investigation have been<br />
released by the <strong>Ministry</strong>.<br />
CONSULTANCY<br />
THDC and Engineers India Limited (EIL) have<br />
signed a Memorandum <strong>of</strong> Understanding (MOU)<br />
to Co-operate and Leverage their respective<br />
strengths and competencies for getting New<br />
Projects in the field <strong>of</strong> Hydro <strong>Power</strong> Development<br />
in India and abroad.
