Distribution and Marketing Stage
- Transportation of products to the distribution sites or customer designated
locations;
- The inventory and reporting of energy/resource input and waste generation
during the marketing process is optional (voluntary);
- The inventory and reporting of transportation from sales/distribution sites to
users is optional (voluntary).
Use Stage
1. Assume the customer connected the product to the main power source after
product purchase without ever unplugging the product.
2. Calculation equation:
E TEC (MJ) = (8760/1000) × (P On × T On + P Standby × T Standby) × 3.6 × (product
lifespan, yr)
Notes:
1. P : Power consumption when the product is at the standby mode.
Standby
2. Assume six hours per day and five days per week of use. The average product use
per year is 1620 hours and 7140 hours at standby.
3. The average product service life: 5 years.
4. Both Px are power values in Watts.
5. Both Tx values are time values in percentage (%) of year.
6. 1.0 kilowatt-hour (kWh) = 3.6 MJ
Recycling/end of life
The reporting of recycling information (such as recycling and dis-assembly report and
information on recycling channels) is mandatory in the EPD.
