feldspar sand beds up to 5 cm altFrnate with brown<br />

clay up to 5 mm; plentiful pebbles rotted diorite<br />

SAND AND SILT: sludge only<br />

TONALITE: coarse-grained feldspathic rock with<br />

hornblende, interstitial quartz. Deeply weathered<br />

with some fresh rock to 20.57. Patchy recrystallization<br />

below 20.57. Quartz veins at intervals. Epidote<br />

veinlets below 14.50 with some epidotisation. Chlorite<br />

veinlets along irregular fractures 14.63, 18.60-19.44,<br />

20.55 with silicification. Pyrite sparsely disseminated<br />

to 14.63, mainly in fractures below 19.04, abundant<br />

20.23-20.57<br />

MICRODIORITE, porphyritic: fine-grained, greenish-<br />

grey with pseudomorpbs after amphibole phenocrysts<br />

7 mm long, plagioclase 2 mm. Sharp contact and chilled<br />

margin against tonalite above, Xenoliths tonalite<br />

22.06-22.12. Intrusion breccia vein at 22.74, 5 cm thick.<br />

Clay lined fractures 21.95, 22.18. Pyrite disseminated, in<br />

blebs and veinlets locally plentiful<br />

TONALITE: as above. Quartz in veins up to 1 cm<br />

with pyrite at intervals. Epidotization at 24.32 and<br />

below at intervals associated with local brecciation.<br />

Chlorite veinlets at irregular intervals. Breccia<br />

veins at 24.74, 33.78. Network fractures below 26.82.<br />

Pyrite abundant disseminated and in veinlets 24.16-24.87,<br />

at intervals 26.15-31.46; in fractures 32.52-33.28,<br />

37.54-38.01. Malachite in quartz-pyrite veins 24.87,<br />

25.98; on joints 26.66, 26.90; breccia vein 24.74<br />

TONALITE: as above. Sharp upper contact; chilled<br />

margin, fine-grained to 38.20. Network fracturing with<br />

intense pyritization <strong>near</strong> upper margin and below 39.83.<br />

Veinlets quartz, epidote, chlorite mainly below 38.20,<br />

most numerous 39.83-41.75. Some carbonate veins.<br />

Local epidotisation; many veinlets 39.83-41.75. Pyrite<br />

disseminated and veinlets to 39.83; disseminated only<br />

41.57-42.14 m. Chalcopyrite in quartz veins 39.41,<br />

39.83-41.75<br />

MICRODIORITE, porphyritic: as above. Sharp contact<br />

45' crossed by quartz veins. Brecciated with abundant<br />

pyrite
