CLAY WITH PEBBLES:<br />

FELDSPAR SAND AND CLAY: deeply weathered<br />

MICROTONALITE, porphyritic: deeply weathered.<br />

Variable content phenocrysts feldspar to 3 mm,<br />

amphibole and uncommon quartz, biotite in very<br />

f ine-grained ground mass. Quartz veinlets sparse<br />

CLAY GOUGE:<br />

MICROTONALITE, porphyritic: as above. First fresh<br />

rock at 5.57, greenish grey. Xenoliths below 6.05.<br />

Quartz veinlets rare. Pyrite sparse in fractures<br />

QUARTZ: with epidote, chlorite, hematite, pyrite<br />

MICROTONALITE, porphyritic: s above. Some<br />

xenoliths porphyritic quartz-microdiorite. Veinlets<br />

quartz, pink feldspar rare. Epidote with carbonate,<br />

chlorite below 14.02. Pyrite in network fractures,<br />

veins, disseminated, locally abundant. Chalcopyrite<br />

in quartz-carbonate vein 17.00<br />

QUARTZ-MICRODIORITE: medium grained, feldspathic<br />

with sparse phenocrysts 3 m m plagioclase, hornblende.<br />

Upper contact sharp, 45". Small xenoliths below<br />

20.73. Quartz veins uncommon. Veinlets chlorite,<br />

quar tz-chlorite, quar tz-carbonate occur throughout.<br />

Epidote with pyrite veins 19.75-22.38, 23.90-24.42,<br />

27.50. Intense epidotization 25.00. Pyrite disseminated,<br />

veins locally abundant. Chalcopyrite in veins with<br />

pyrite, 19.80, 22.77, 22.98. ?Autoclastic<br />

brecciation, 22.80-28.07<br />

QUARTZ-MICRODIORITE: as above. Some veins<br />

carbonate, quartz. Pyrite sparse disseminated<br />

and veinlets. ? Autoclastic breccia zone 29.27-29.70<br />

QUARTZ-MICRODIORITE: as above. Upper contact<br />

<strong>near</strong>ly parallel core. Network fracturing and breccia<br />

veins locally. Pyrite in veinlets common below 29.60.<br />

Chalcopyrite at 29.65, 30.07<br />

QUARTZ-MICRODIORITE: as above. Sharp upper<br />

contact. Brecciation at intervals. Pyrite sparsely<br />

disseminated; veinlets with quartz, chlorite, carbonate<br />

and some chalcopyrite<br />
