PREREQUISITE: English 101 or equivalent. This course gives students opportunities to analyze and evaluate films of artistic and<br />
cultural significance. The language, structure, and narrative techniques of film and literary classics will be compared by reading<br />
literature and watching films based on these literary sources.<br />

PREREQUISITE: English 101 or equivalent. Students study a selection of significant literary works by Latin American authors.<br />
Readings will include selected poems, plays, and fiction by writers such as Pablo Neruda, Eduardo Galeano, and Jorge Luis Borges,<br />
and will explore the themes of magical realism, social engagement, 'la raza cosmica,' and utopian yearnings.<br />
