The “CUB CARD” is the official student<br />
identification card at <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
To obtain this card, a student must show proof<br />
of current enrollment along with a form of photo<br />
identification. The card is used for identification<br />
purposes by student services offices, library<br />
services, campus labs and the fitness center.<br />
Discounts are also given by some off-campus<br />
merchants when you present the card (ex: movie<br />
theaters, book stores, restaurants, etc.).<br />

The <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong> English Literacy<br />
Program and Citizenship Center provides an<br />
integrated program of services incorporating<br />
English literacy and civics education to<br />
students and members of the community. The<br />
Program offers a broad scope of academic<br />
and naturalization support services. In addition<br />
to acquiring citizenship, the Program assists<br />
immigrant students to develop the skills and<br />
knowledge to enhance their roles as informed<br />
community members, parents, and workers.<br />
This free program offers non-credit classes in ESL,<br />
Speech Interview Skills, Citizenship preparation and<br />
Civics education.The goal of the English Literacy<br />
Program is to provide English language instruction and<br />
knowledge on the rights and responsibilities of citizens<br />
through instruction in naturalization procedures,<br />
citizenship, civic participation, and United States history<br />
and government. In addition to acquiring citizenship,<br />
the center assists immigrant students with developing<br />
the skills and knowledge to enhance their roles as<br />
informed community members, parents, and workers.<br />
