<strong>2012</strong>-2013: Completion of all of the requirements in the INTERSEGMENTAL GENERAL EDUCATION TRANSFER<br />

CURRICULUM will permit a student to transfer from <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong> to a campus in either the California<br />

State University or University of California system without the need, after transfer, to take additional lower-division,<br />

General Education courses to satisfy campus General Education requirements<br />

The course requirements for all areas must be completed before the IGETC can be certified. All courses must be completed with grades of “C” or better.<br />

IGETC units will be certified by the graduation clerks when verified by LACC Counselors. Pass Along will be honored from other community colleges for<br />

courses approved for the IGETC. You must complete the IGETC before transferring. (Completion and certification of the IGETC may not fulfill the<br />

Admissions Requirements for the UC or CSU.)<br />

by passing 2 years of a foreign language in high<br />

school with a grade of C or better, 2 years attendance<br />

at a foreign junior high or high school,<br />

proving competency by an acceptable exam, or<br />

choosing one of the following courses at a level<br />

II or higher: ASL , Arabic, Armenian, Chinese,<br />

French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian,<br />

Spanish<br />

If proficiency was met in high school, transcript<br />

must be provided (no units granted for HS coursework).<br />
