Jump start Your
College Education!
The Los Angeles City College’s Summer Bridge Program is
an opportunity to get a jump start on your college education!
Students get the complete college experience of taking
classes for credit and learn about support programs in
conjunction with the Educational Opportunity Program
Services (EOP&S) at Los Angeles City College. Academic
an financial advising is also provided.
Eligibility: Any entering freshman student accepted to
LA City College in the fall may apply.
Reasons to Apply to the Summer Bridge:
n Free classes for credit to prepare for the rigor
of college classes
n Assistance with paperwork to get ready for the fall
semester
n Orientation Reception for you and your parents.
n Introduction to special LA City College programs
in research, medicine, career preparation, etc.
n Free diagnostic testing on learning styles,
study skills, science process skills and personal
organization.

Academic Counseling Mentors
Specially Selected Classes
The First Year Experience is a unique approach
to help new freshmen succeed in college.
Participants will enroll in selected classes as a group.
Peer mentors will be assigned to assist in the classroom.
Increased teacher/student interaction will be included.
Academic counseling will be provided for all participants,
helping to ensure the students’ academic needs are met.
Such reinforcement helps student retention, encourages
student partnerships, and creates an encouraging
learning environment.
