<strong>College</strong> Education!<br />
The <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s Summer Bridge Program is<br />
an opportunity to get a jump start on your college education!<br />
Students get the complete college experience of taking<br />
classes for credit and learn about support programs in<br />
conjunction with the Educational Opportunity Program<br />
Services (EOP&S) at <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Academic<br />
an financial advising is also provided.<br />
Eligibility: Any entering freshman student accepted to<br />
LA <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong> in the fall may apply.<br />
Reasons to Apply to the Summer Bridge:<br />
n Free classes for credit to prepare for the rigor<br />
of college classes<br />
n Assistance with paperwork to get ready for the fall<br />
semester<br />
n Orientation Reception for you and your parents.<br />
n Introduction to special LA <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong> programs<br />
in research, medicine, career preparation, etc.<br />
n Free diagnostic testing on learning styles,<br />
study skills, science process skills and personal<br />
organization.<br />

Academic Counseling Mentors<br />
Specially Selected Classes<br />
The First Year Experience is a unique approach<br />
to help new freshmen succeed in college.<br />
Participants will enroll in selected classes as a group.<br />
Peer mentors will be assigned to assist in the classroom.<br />
Increased teacher/student interaction will be included.<br />
Academic counseling will be provided for all participants,<br />
helping to ensure the students’ academic needs are met.<br />
Such reinforcement helps student retention, encourages<br />
student partnerships, and creates an encouraging<br />
learning environment.<br />
