Spring 2010: Students pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree from a California State University shall complete a pattern of General
Education Courses. A student may complete 39 units of the General Education pattern at the community college. Students
who are certified with 39 semester units of lower division General Education-Breadth courses will be required to complete a
minimum of 9 semester units of upper division General Education work after transfer. Courses to be used for Area A and B3
(Mathematics) must be completed with a “C” grade or better.
The California State University assigns a high priority to California community college transfer students who have completed the first two years of the
baccalaureate programs (60-70 units). Students transferring with the 60-unit minimum enter at junior level standing and may begin their upper division
work if all prerequisites have been completed.
