INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS AND MICROSOFT WINDOWS<br />

Computers are so easy to use, right? This is a beginner’s course covering typical<br />

hardware and software, concepts and terminology of operating the PC in the home or<br />

business environment. Practice the basic computer fundamentals: powering up,<br />

creating files & folders, making backups, using Windows operating system and the builtin<br />

accessories. Learn about all those keys on the keyboard, and how they are used along<br />

with basic mouse operations. This course will offer the knowledge and confidence to<br />

handle most Windows applications. Basic typing skills needed.<br />

pivot tables, and introduction to macros/VBA programming. Prerequisite: Knowledge of basic spreadsheet<br />

Take the fast-track to using this powerful word processing program. This course will cover all the basics<br />

including: page layout & templates, editing & formatting, working with styles and themes. Learn about the<br />

commands, galleries, wizards and keyboard shortcuts to easily create that perfect document. Also<br />

demonstrated: Headers & columns, and various tips and tricks. The advanced section is designed to take you<br />

beyond the basics with topics such as mail-merge, tables & graphics, macros, etc. This hands-on class is<br />

limited to one computer per student. Student should bring a USB flash drive for saving example documents<br />

Learn how to create your own online store using a variety of online services, many being free or at little cost<br />

to you. Many of these services require little or no knowledge of coding. You might even create your own<br />

website using a content management system (CMS) such as Magento. Get hands-on instruction creating your<br />

own personalized online store. Stop procrastinating and putting off your excellent ideas and line of<br />

wonderful products. Let this class introduce your products to the entire world!!!<br />

Knowledge of keyboard/mouse internet needed. Basic HTML may be introduced, but not required. You are<br />

outs of your computer and see how everything works in that electronic box. You’ll get hands-on dissecting<br />

hardware and no longer be unfamiliar with optical drives, USB ports, hard drives, and more. Learn about the<br />

software that runs on your computer and what steps you can take to keep it up-to-date and virus-free.<br />

This is a 7-hour class with a half-hour break.<br />
