JUDO<br />

This is an introductory (beginner’s) course mixed with<br />

intermediate students. Basic judo skills include<br />

throwing, groundwork (grappling),<br />

strangulation escapes and arm locks.<br />

Women and men participate in a coeducational<br />

setting with emphasis<br />

on learning judo for self-defense,<br />

tournament competition, physical<br />

fitness and fun. This course is<br />

recreational in nature and students<br />

can be any age from teenagers to senior citizens.<br />

Wear sweat pants & shirt or judo uniform to class. All<br />

are welcome to join!<br />

dissecting hardware and no longer be unfamiliar with<br />

optical drives, USB ports, hard drives, and more.<br />

Learn about the software that runs on your computer<br />

and what steps you can take to keep it up-to-date and<br />

virus free.<br />

POTTERY MAKING<br />

Students will learn the<br />

basics of throwing on a<br />

potter’s wheel. Simple<br />

forms such as cylinders,<br />

cups, and bowls will be<br />

emphasized. Learn<br />

centering, pulling, and<br />

trimming. Classes will<br />

explore a variety of hand-building techniques including<br />

clay slab, pinch pots, coiling, molds, and glazing.<br />

Create all kinds of forms – you’re only limited by your<br />

imagination in hand building. Wear old clothes, and to<br />

bring an old towel and apron. Material fee of $35<br />

payable at first meeting. Held off-campus. Limited to<br />

only 6 students.<br />

FLORAL DESIGN I<br />

Learn how to make sophisticated arrange beautiful<br />

fresh flower arrangements for<br />

those special occasions. This<br />

hands-on workshop allows you<br />

to make your own masterpieces<br />

and express your own artistic<br />

talents. You will take home a<br />

new floral arrangement from<br />

each workshop. Material fee of<br />

$40 payable at time of<br />

registration. Material fee pays<br />

for fresh flowers instructor will provide at each class<br />

meeting to complete all class projects. Bring wire<br />

cutters, small knife and newspapers. See Floral<br />

Design levels II and III on pages 25-26.<br />
