PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS*<br />

One-on-one swimming instruction for adults or kids - one student per instructor. Learn<br />

quickly and safely avoid the crowds; overcome your fear of water. Dates and times to<br />

be arranged – Weekday evenings and Weekends. During the hot <strong>Summer</strong> season the<br />

private swim program attracts a lot of students, we encourage you to register early<br />

and concurrently if you wish to maintain the same swim instructor and proceed uninterrupted. Ages 7 +.<br />

Each meeting scheduled is a length of one (1) hour.<br />

*Our pool staff requires a strict schedule of lessons. Missed swim lessons cannot be re-scheduled or made up!<br />

LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION<br />

Obtain the newest updated all-in-one lifeguard certificate (which includes first aid & CPR).<br />

This certificate will enable you to work as a lifeguard with parks & recreation, private<br />

pool programs or at the beach. No previous lifeguard experience needed. Prior to<br />

enrollment students must contact pool manager for swimming evaluation.<br />

Students must be 15+ yrs. At start of class, be prepared to swim during first class meeting.<br />

$27 certification fee payable at time of registration. Limited to only 6 students.<br />

Community Services at <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>College</strong> provides a full range of notfor-credit<br />

classes and programs designed to meet the educational, social,<br />

recreational, cultural, and civic needs of people in the college community.<br />

We are always searching for new instructors who have fresh ideas for new and<br />

interesting courses. If you are interested in teaching a Community Services<br />

classes please fill out and submit a course proposal form and a current copy of<br />

your resume.<br />

You may be considered to teach a new class proposed and created by you, or<br />

to teach an advertised class for which you have specific related experience and<br />

competence. Applicants are contacted as needed. All class proposals are added<br />

to a database for consideration.<br />

Please review our catalogs to prevent any duplication of classes or programs in<br />

your proposal. Unless it is explicitly stated as to why your proposal is unique<br />
