FLORAL DESIGN II This class is a continuation of floral design I, with emphasis on even more creative and colorful floral arrangement techniques. Bring your imagination and let’s get creative. This class will teach you about supplies, materials, safety and inexpensive resources in this fun, hands-on course. Also learn a bunch of ways to blow up balloons without having to huff and puff. You’ll become a “balloonatic!” Bring your camera to take photographs of your beautiful balloon projects. SEWING MADE EASY I Develop your creativity and save money making your own clothes in a safe comfortable setting. Sewing lessons will include proper sewing machine operation, fabric selection, personal body measurements, and introduction to patterns and garments construction with basic sewing machine techniques. No prior sewing experience necessary. Open to both men and women ages 16+. Please bring: a pencil, 60” tape measure, 3 ½ yards of non-stretchable cotton fabric (no stripes or plaids), matching thread, scissors, seam ripper, hand needles and pins. Continuing your project, instruction will be given on how to read more challenging patterns, deciphering a pattern and learning to do more detailed stitches. Students will also learn increasing & decreasing, changing colors, as well as the importance of doing gauges and using circular needles. Pattern will be provided by instructor. Learn how to make your own 2 garments by using step by step pattern making techniques in class. Requirements: Must know how to read a ruler, be willing to do some homework and to produce a fabric test with very slight sewing. Class is open to men & women ages 16+. This class is for someone who has an interest in Fashion Sketching as a hobby or would like to be a future designer or as an Entrepreneur. Class covers seasons, themes, color story, categories, fabrics, trimmings, some costing, salability and organization of a “line”. Class will end with the Designer’s Board Presentation. Ages 16+. Please bring the following materials to 1st meeting of class: 15 Sheets of typing paper, drawing and color pencils, eraser, and clear see-thru 18” inch ruler.
