DESIGN YOUR OWN CLOTHES<br />

Learn how to design clothes by using your creativity<br />

and various sources of inspiration. Learn how to do<br />

“flat Sketching”, full dimensional figures” and how to<br />

draw apparel with specific details. This class is for<br />

someone who has an interest in Fashion Sketching<br />

as a hobby or would like to be a future designer or<br />

as an Entrepreneur. Class covers seasons,<br />

themes, color story, categories, fabrics, trimmings,<br />

some costing, salability and organization of a “line”.<br />

Class will end with the Designer’s Board<br />

Presentation. Ages 16+. Please bring the<br />

following materials to 1 st meeting of class: 15<br />

Sheets of typing paper, drawing and color<br />

pencils, eraser, and clear see-thru 18” inch<br />

ruler. Instructor will address any additional<br />

SEWING MADE EASY<br />

Develop your creativity and save money making<br />

your own clothes in a safe comfortable setting.<br />

Sewing lessons will<br />

machine operation, fabric<br />

introduction to patterns<br />

and garments construction<br />

with basic sewing machine techniques. No prior<br />

sewing experience necessary. Open to both men<br />

and women ages 16+. Please bring: a pencil, 60”<br />

tape measure, 3 ½ yards of non-stretchable<br />

cotton fabric (no stripes or plaids), matching<br />

thread, scissors, seam ripper, hand needles and<br />

pins. Sewing machine provided by L.A.C.C. one<br />

FASHION PATTERN MAKING<br />

This hands-on beginner’s class will introduce you to<br />

the challenging world of fashion pattern making.<br />

Learn how to make your own 2 garments by using<br />

step by step pattern making techniques in class.<br />

Requirements: Must know how to read a ruler, be<br />

willing to do some homework and to produce a<br />

fabric test with very slight sewing. Class is open to<br />

men & women ages 16+. Please bring: Pencils,<br />

60” tape measure, see-thru plastic ruler 2x18”,<br />

scissors, 3 ½ yards of muslin fabric, eraser,<br />

scotch tape. No class March 31.<br />

JEWELRY MAKING<br />

BASIC BEADED JEWELRY<br />

Come learn how to make stunning beaded<br />

bracelets and earrings using basic techniques (no<br />

soldering). You will be using<br />

flex wire, eye pins, headpins,<br />

crimp beads, semi-precious<br />

stones, pearls, crystals, and<br />

glass beads. Bring round nose<br />

pliers, wire cutter, and chain<br />

nose pliers. Material fee of<br />

$18 payable at time of registration<br />

covers materials needed to complete projects.<br />

GLASS FUSION<br />

Learn how to create fused tiles or jewelry from<br />

glass. No prior glass experience is necessary.<br />

You’ll learn how to work with glass, assemble and<br />

decorate it using different colors of glass on top of<br />

each other. Your pieces will then be melted in a kiln<br />

to create magnificent artwork. Material fee of $30<br />

payable at first meeting - covers all materials<br />

needed for class projects. Limited to 8 students.<br />

BLOW GLASS GLOBES<br />

Glaskolben, as they’re known in Germany, make<br />

beautiful ornaments or sun catchers that reflect the<br />

light. You’ll learn how to blow your own glass<br />

globes, using different colors of glass and varying<br />

designs creating elegant beautiful various shapes.<br />

A great idea for the holidays and any other time of<br />

the year. Material fee of $35 payable at first<br />

meeting covers supplies to make up to 14 globes.<br />
