prefixes, suffixes, Greek/ Latin<br />

verbs and adjectives used to<br />

construct medical terms. Also<br />

study the skeletal system. This<br />

class is for those interested in<br />

health-science related occupations.<br />

Ages: 14+. Concurrent enrollment in Medical<br />

Terminology. ll & lll is O.K. Material fee of $5<br />

major systems, along with the diseases and<br />

disorders associated with those systems. Topics:<br />

muscular, circulatory, respiratory, endocrinology,<br />

and gastrointestinal. This class is designed for<br />

those interested in the health-science occupations.<br />

Concurrent enrollment in Med. Term. I & III O.K.<br />

Ages 14+. Material fee of $5 payable at time of<br />

registration.<br />

integumentary systems, eye, ear, nose, mouth (the<br />

senses). This class is designed for those interested<br />

in health science related occupations. Concurrent<br />

enrollment in Med. Term. I & ll is O.K. Ages 14+.<br />

Material fee of $5 payable at time of registration.<br />

MEDICAL INSURANCE<br />

Learn to use the ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding systems<br />

required by insurance companies including HMOs,<br />

commercial indemnity insurance, Medicare & Medi-<br />

Cal. Get knowledge of assigning diagnostic codes<br />

to patients' conditions and procedural codes to<br />

physicians' services. Cost of ICD-9 books $170 +<br />

$15 for material handouts are payable at time of<br />

registration. Medical Terminology I, II, and III<br />

Required.<br />

requirements for Workman’s Comp/Champus<br />

HMO’s, Medicare/Medi-Cal will be covered & claim<br />

forms will be completed for each. Pre-requisite:<br />

Working knowledge of Medical Terminology I, II, III,<br />

and ICD-9/CPT-4 coding. BRING ICD-9/CPT-4<br />
