KING FAHD UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM & MINERALS

Applications are invited for faculty positions in the following departments at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals,
Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Positions: Applicants for Professorial positions should hold Doctorates and have a strong record of published research,
experience in supervising research of graduate students, and industrial and relevant teaching experience at the university
level. Applicants for Instructor and Lecturer positions should possess a Master’s degree and have teaching and/or industrial

1. COLLEGE OF SCIENCES
Chemistry (Ref: 520/COS)
Candidates with Ph.D. in Biology to teach General Biology,

Mathematical Sciences (Ref: 540/COS)
Faculty positions at the levels of Lecturer, Assistant Professor and
above - in the areas of: Real and Complex Analysis, Applied
Mathematics, Numerical Analysis, and Statistics.
Earth Sciences (Ref: 530/COS)
Faculty positions in the field of and with Ph.D. degree in Environmental
and Engineering Geology with at least ten years industrial
experience in all aspects of environmental investigations and
assessments. Areas of interest are interactions of humans with the
geologic environment, waste and pollution management, assessing
geological hazards and risks, toxic substance control and land
use management.
2. COLLEGE OF COMPUTER SCIENCES & ENGINEERING
Computer Engineering (Ref: 382/COE)
Faculty positions for all Professorial ranks including Lecturer.
The department also invites applicants for visiting positions.
Areas of interest include: Computer Networks (Internet working,
High Speed Networks, Wireless Networks, Mobile Computing,

Senior Faculty members with industrial experience in the following

Machine Intelligence, Control Systems Theory and Applications.

3. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING SCIENCES

& Polymerization Reaction Engineering are particularly needed.

Ph.D. in Environmental Engg. with at least Associate Professor
rank & background in Chemical, Physical, & Biological Treatment

Electrical Engineering (Ref: 360/CES)
Faculty positions for the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate

4. COLLEGE OF INDUSTRIAL MANAGEMENT
Accounting & M.I.S. (Ref: 625/CIMA)
Faculty positions in the following areas:
Accounting Major (Professorial positions). Ph.D. or DBA
majors, priority will be given to candidates with strength in
Accounting Information Systems, Auditing & Financial
Accounting.
M.I.S. Major (Professorial positions). Ph.D. or DBA with an
MIS major (or an equivalent field such as Information Systems,
Information Technology, E-Commerce, Computer Science).

Analysis and design, Client Server Applications Development and

Finance & Economics (Ref: 620/CIMF)
Openings for all Professorial ranks in Finance. Duties include:
Teaching, research and professional activities in Finance and related

and graduate courses in Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial

Management & Marketing (Ref: 615/CIMM)
Faculty positions for the ranks of Assistant Professors and above,
in the field of Management, Marketing, Business Communications,
and Operations Management. Faculty will teach various courses
offered in our BS in Management, BS in Marketing and in our
MBA program.
5. COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Architecture (Ref: 460/CEDA)
Faculty positions in the following fields: 1. Computer Aided
Design, 2. Architectural Design Methods, 3. Theory of Architecture,
and 4. History of Architecture, and to teach graduate and
undergraduate courses, developing and participating in the research
activities of the Department.
Construction Engineering & Management (Ref: 470/CEDC)
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Construction Engineering &
Management, specialized in construction engineering/methods and
applications of computer in CEM. Industrial work experience is
strongly desired.
6. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (Lecturer Positions)
English Language Center (Ref: 660/ELC)
We have opportunities for well-qualified, committed and
experienced teachers of English as a foreign language to start in
September and January each year. Applicants should be willing to
teach in a structured, intensive program to which they are
encouraged to contribute ideas and materials.
Qualifications: MA in TEFL/TESL or Applied Linguistics, or a
one-academic-year, full-time postgraduate diploma in TEFL/TESL
from a recognized university.
Experience: Minimum two years’ overseas teaching experience in
EFL/ESL.
Physical Education (Ref: 265/PE)
Applications are invited for Lecturer positions.
Qualifications: Physical Education Specialists - teachers with
recognized coaching experience in badminton, track & field, soccer,
gymnastics, basketball, swimming, table tennis, martial arts,
volleyball, fencing, and squash.
M.E. Prep. Year Program (Ref: 370/PYP)
Applications are invited at Lecturer rank in the areas of graphics
(geometrical and engineering drawing), sheetmetal fabrication,
automotive mechanics, woodworking, and basic electrical
engineering. Any combination of these subjects would be an
advantage. Applicants should have teaching and industrial experience.
Math. Orientation Program (Ref: 660/MTH)
We have opportunities for well-qualified, committed and
experienced teachers of mathematics to start in September and
January each year. Applicants should be willing to teach in a
structured intensive program to which they are encouraged to
contribute ideas and materials. They will be required to teach precalculus
(college algebra) and calculus courses (A-level algebra,
trigonometry, and calculus). M.S. degree in Math or equivalent.
Salary/Benefits: Two-year renewable contract. Competitive salaries based on qualifications and experience. Free furnished airconditioned

Modeling of Metal Forming Processes
CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THEME ISSUE OF THE AJSE
The Editorial Board of the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE) plans to publish a Theme Issue on
Modeling of Metal Forming Processes in 2005. The objective of this special issue is to attract research papers containing
recent developments and new trends in this continuously growing area of research. To further improve the quality and
reduce the cost of manufacturing in the future, the focus of this issue will be on the development and utilization of
numerical, analytical, and experimental tools in reaching the optimum design of metal forming processes. The issue is
expected to contain the latest developments in computational and experimental research in the areas of metal forming and
heat treatment. All the manuscripts will be subjected to the standard refereeing process of the AJSE.
