Tool Station – much more than
your ordinary tool carriage
Cost effi ciency right along the line
The Atlas Copco Tool Station is a unique tool and aid for
product development. This fully-fi tted mobile assembly
system will increase your working effi ciency and cut
costs over the entire production cycle – from prototype
construction to the pilot phase through to standard
production. And once Tool Station has accelerated the
entire production cycle, it also becomes a backup in
ongoing standard production for your assembly tools,
which import the fi nal assembly process into the Tool
Station database. The Tool Station’s system software
creates a complete parameter set for every bolted joint.
The Tool Station manages an infi nite number of
parameter sets and supports all tightening applications.
All applications are automatically programmed through
the simple import of an Excel application list. Once the
required tightening method is selected via keypad or
touchscreen, the computer sets the suitable control
parameters and the process data can be exported to
MS Excel following tightening. Tools are automatically
selected using the Tool Station’s system software.
Tool Station thus guarantees that the tightening tool and
selected tightening strategy are 100% compatible.
A maximum of 2 controllers enable the operation of
practically every tool, from 1– 4000Nm.
Tests and documentation
The Tool Station controls the tightening tools, whilst
recording and checking the tightening data at the same
time. The electronic torque verifi cation key with
transducer in Tool Station enables the manual
verifi cation and measurement of deformation and
installed torque values. The comprehensive
documentation in Tool Station contains data such as VIN
Code (Vehicle Identifi cation Number), application name,
program name, vehicle type, date, time, parameter
sets, limit values (torque/rotational angle) and tightening
results, including subsidence and installed torque value.
Pre-series production – everything you
need for a swift start
Pre-series production realizes some units, although full
tool equipping at standard level is not achieved at this
early stage. The Tool Station used for pilot phases
contains everything you need for your tightening
specifi cations. Data can be transferred to other carts or
existing ones can be integrated into the project. In
either case, all bolting processes can get off to a quick
start.
