Internal Christmas Newsletter
As another year passes and the next year begins I would like to
thank you all for your dedication and hard work which has helped
us pull together and get through this difficult year. Before we all go
our separate ways to enjoy those familiar festivities and Christmas
traditions, lets take a look at what we have achieved this year
throughout the Group and hope it will inspire another successful year
for 2010.
Changing faces!
New beginnings!
We would like to give a big warm welcome
to all the new faces that have joined the
Killgerm team this year and wish them all
the best in their new roles:
Julie Jones joined Killgerm in January as
Company Receptionist
The marketing department expanded in
April as we welcomed new recruit Tomasz
Kucharski as Multimedia Developer &
Designer
Janet Hyde joined our Customer Services
Department to replace Lisa Hidle who left
Killgerm to pursue an exciting life down
under in Australia!

Dan Gaskin has taken over from David
Lovell as Area Sales Manager for the East
Midlands as David embarks on his new role
as Special Projects Manager.
John Stacey will take over as Area Sales
Manager for the Northern Home Counties
and East Anglia when long standing staff
member Pat Marks retires at Christmas.
Christmas also sees the departure of Dan
Murad, as he leaves Killgerm after more
than 5 years working as Creative Mac
Designer within the Marketing department.

Announcements
Isabel Sampson got engaged to former
colleague Chris Jowett on 26th April and
plans to wed back home in Mauritius on
6th November 2010.
Robert Hayford celebrated his marriage
to Adwoa Adarkwa on Saturday 8th
August in Accra, Ghana, welcoming over
950 guests to join in their celebrations!
That very same day saw a second
employee tie the knot as Carl Fallas
wed Kirsty Champion after 15 long
years of engagement! Having married
in Wakefield, they celebrated their
honeymoon in Turkey with their two
children.
Katy Baker married Chris Edwards on
3rd October in Headingley, the happy
couple are now expecting their first baby
together.
Paul Wood was delighted to announce
the exciting news of his wife’s pregnancy
this November. Their bouncing baby is
due in the first week of April; make sure
you get some sound nights sleep before
then Paul!
Kirsty Mansfield became Kirsty Lee
when she married her long time love
Andy Lee on 14th May. Their big day
was indeed made even more perfect as
they tied the knot on a beautiful beach
in Cyprus.
Maureen Whitbread celebrated her
60th birthday on the 4th July with a
fabulous weekend in Rome.

Share a card
this Christmas! Killgerm

This Christmas Killgerm have been
involved in the Share a Card scheme
to raise money for Wakefield Hospice
who provide specialist palliative care
for patients, families and carers. This
initiative enabled employees to send
Christmas greetings to each other by
signing one Christmas Card; participants
were then be invited to make a donation
using the money they have saved by not
buying lots of individual cards.
Thanks very much for all your kind
contributions. All donations have been
gratefully received by Wakefield Hospice.
Achievements
James Nolan successfully completed
the Harewood House 10K run on Sunday
18th October raising £230.00 for Cancer
Research.
Isabel & Daniela achieved one of their
personal challenges as they completed
the Three Peaks in June.
Sabra completed the Wild Walk Way 20
mile walk through Bakewell on Sunday
17th May, raising £165 for Action for
Children.
Dawn Richardson passed her Territorial
Army basic training
Jane West became a qualified
Accounting Technician
Several members of our customer
services team have been very busy
as Rachel Morris achieved her NVQ
Level 3 Business Administration, Gail
Waddington achieved her NVQ Level
3 Customer Service, Carl Wetherill

Whyte are preparing themselves to
take part in the Sheffield Half Marathon,
which takes place on Sunday 25th April
2010 to raise money for the Sheffield
Wildlife Trust, sponsorship forms will be

As the largest and most successful distributor in the pest management industry, we
often lead the way with innovative products and training courses. We pride ourselves
on being in touch with all of the many different organisations involved in environmental
health and being involved in decisions that affect our industry.
Part of our work towards this is our involvement with the Chartered Institute of
Environmental Health National Pest Advisory Panel where we aim to raise awareness of
pest management issues with a wider audience.
The CIEH is the professional body for all environmental health practitioners whether
employed by government, local authorities, industry or private practice. The CIEH is
consulted in the highest echelons of Government and is often called upon to put forward
the importance of environmental health matters, such as pest control, in protecting
public health.
Over the past year we have assisted the CIEH with the production of important
documents such as Pest control procedures in the food industry and Guidance on
composting without attracting rodents. In January Pest control procedures in the
housing sector will be available to complement an impressive suite of pest awareness
documents. Our involvement with the CIEH highlights our continued commitment to
raising awareness of the public health implications of pest infestations and therefore
increasing the demand for pest control and growing the size of our market.
Killgerm Portugal
Lda all set to trade!
For several years Killgerm S.A. has
been supplying pest control companies
in Portugal from Barcelona. Killgerm
Group has now set up a new company
based in Lisbon, Killgerm Portugal Lda to
handle the business in Portugal. Initially
the administration and warehousing
functions will be handled by Killgerm
On Monday the 14th of December
Killgerm Benelux celebrated the official
opening of their brand new offices and
warehouse. Their previous building will
be demolished in the New Year and
replaced by a large shopping centre! The
move was conducted whilst remaining
open for business as usual, thanks to
some help from the UK warehouse team.
Enjoying their new improved office and
warehouse facilities, the new building is
very close to their previous one, but this
extra space provides the capacity to grow
and develop in the future.
Meanwhile as Killgerm Benelux intend
to develop their market presence in
Belgium, they would like to welcome
their new member of staff, Rob
Willemsen, who has taken on the role
S.A. in Barcelona. Portuguese customers
will benefit from receiving more
dedicated attention and there will be a
Portugal specific catalogue for biocidal
products. The company will be launched
at the Workshops that will take place in
Porto and Lisbon in February 2010.
