The gain you need without feedback
Speech is comprised of high frequency and
low frequency sounds. The high frequency
sounds are the key to understanding speech.
Unfortunately, providing high-frequency
amplification in hearing aids can result in
feedback (whistling). Most hearing aids
address feedback by reducing the highfrequency
amplification - which ultimately
compromises speech understanding.
Adapto Power deals with feedback
(whistling) in a different way. The Dynamic
Feedback Cancellation system addresses
feedback without reducing high-frequency
amplification and without compromising
your speech understanding. So feedback is
eliminated before it is ever heard by you.
How does it work?
The Dynamic Feedback Cancellation system constantly
monitors the sound you hear through your
hearing aids.When it detects the slightest sign of
feedback, it immediately cancels it out.This happens
so fast you won’t even notice it.The Dynamic
Feedback Cancellation system operates in two
different modes, fast and slow.The slow mode is
appropriate for most situations and consumes very
little battery life.The fast mode is for situations
where sudden changes occur, like when you’re
hugging someone or answering the telephone.
Thus, the dual mode of the Dynamic Feedback
Cancellation system provides double security against
feedback.

In conversations, even the smallest amount
of speech information can be decisive. As
you don’t want to miss any sounds, you’re
often exposed to very high output levels all
day long. This causes strain and annoyance
and can even be harmful to your remaining
hearing.
It needn’t be like that. As speech is not
always present throughout the day, Adapto
Power has a system that takes this into
account. With the exceptional speech detection
and comfort system, VoiceFinder, you
get all-day comfort – and optimal speech
understanding the moment someone speaks.
How does it work?
The system works by advanced speech detection.
Vowels - the sounds that most clearly mark the
presence of speech - have two main characteristics:
harmonics and synchronous energy.With the
VoiceFinder, you are ensured that surrounding
sounds are constantly monitored for these
characteristics.When detected,VoiceFinder gives
you optimal speech understanding. It is only when
harmonics and synchronous energy haven’t been
present for a short while,VoiceFinder switches to a
comfort mode and gently tunes out background
noise.

A flexible solution
Adapto Power’s personalisation possibilities
go beyond sound processing. It offers a wide
range of options and is fully compatible with
most assistive listening devices.
Manual override
The fully automatic operation is supplemented
by a programmable volume control function.
It provides an extra boost or reduction in
overall intensity for special listening situations.

Adapto Power offers a wide range of program
options for various listening situations, for
instance, a Music/TV program.

Full DAI and FM Compatibility
Adapto Power is fully compatible with both
Direct Audio Input and a broad range of
wireless systems and dedicated connectors.
Automatic Telecoil
In addition to the standard telecoil option,
Adapto Power (ITE only) offers a telecoil that
automatically switches to the telecoil program
when a telephone receiver is placed by
the ear.
Increased ventilation
The advanced technology in Adapto Power
makes it possible to provide ventilation of
up to 2 mm. The increased venting helps
alleviate perspiration and skin irritation
problems.
