V. FACILITIES OFFERED
1. ATHLETES
A single room for the CSI5*-W 45 participants will be at the expense of the
Organisers, from 27 to 31 December 2011 (4 nights). Riders participating in the
Masters will have the room offered from 26 December (5 nights).
All invited riders will be staying in the Novotel – Van Beethovenstraat 1 – 2800

Special rates for guests through the organisation.
All rooms booked but not used will be billed to the rider following
the usual hotel rate !!!
Transportation between Hotel and Showground will be organised (shuttle
service).
CSI5*-W riders will have free meal & drink tickets offered by the OC from 26
to 30 December (5 days).
2. GROOMS
The grooms will have the possibility to take showers at the stables.
Sleeping accommodation is also available.
Request for accommodation must be send with the entries.

3. HORSES
Transport expenses to be paid by the competitor.
All horses will be stabled on the showground, including straw and hay. (Shavings
will be available at the prize of the day).
Stable Size : 3m X 3m. For events in Europe, stabling is free of charge.
The OC charges a manure disposal fee of EUR 40.-/horse/event.
4. ADDITIONAL FEES
All further fees (i.e electricity, etc.) must be listed hereunder with the details of the
amounts to be charged. These must have received FEI Approval before being
included in the published schedule. Only fees approved by the FEI and listed
in the approved schedule can be charged by the OC.

6. LOCAL TRANSPORTATION - ARRANGEMENTS FROM HOTEL TO

There will be shuttle service from the Hotel to the showground and back :
25 December : from 18h00 to 21h00
26-30 December : from 07h00 to 01h00
Request for Pick up from and to the airport (Brussels) should be send to the sport
office in advance.
7. ADVERTISING AND PUBLICITY ON ATHLETES AND HORSES
The Athletes are authorised to carry the logo of their personal sponsor on the
saddle cloth in accordance with Art. 256.3 and 257.3 of the FEI Rules for Jumping.
The Chief Steward will check that the advertising and publicity on Athletes and
horses complies with these Articles.
VI. MISCELLANEOUS
1. GENERAL CLASSIFICATION AT THE END OF THE COMPETITIONS
Best International rider over some CSIW-5* classes with a system of points wins a
Ifor Williams Trailer (value 6.075 €, VAT excluded. The Vat needs to be paid by the
new owner)
2. PRIZE - CLASSIFICATION
Points system to determine the leading rider:

3. PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
8 riders need to present themselves for the prize-giving ceremony of each
competition. The owner of the winning horse is invited to the prize giving ceremony
in the Rolex FEI World Cup.
4. DEDUCTIONS FROM PRIZE MONEY
Money due to riders from the Organizing Committee will be paid according to art.
130.2 after the last international class. 18% tax will be deducted from the prize
money (also for the cars and trailer) distributed to the foreign owners by the
Belgian Government. Payment with credit card! (No cash)
The account will be made after the riders‟ last class.
Twenty-five percent of participants receive prize money (one prize for each group
of four commenced competitors or part thereof).
The prize Money will be wired into the account of the riders. We ask all
riders to send their bank details with the definite entries (Name of the
Bank, Account Holder, Account Number, Iban Number, Swift Code)

THE FEI CODE OF CONDUCT
FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSE
The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in international
equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI‟s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept
that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be
subordinated to competitive or commercial influences.
1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare
must take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse
management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation.
2. Horses and Athletes must be fit, competent and in good health before they are
allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that
threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids.
3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to
the competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety
and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event.
4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after
they have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition
careers are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries,
euthanasia and retirement.
5. The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of
education in their areas of expertise.

The 2 cars (Freelander 2) to be won at the show aren‟t the cars presented at the
prize giving ceremony. The riders “personally” must take possession of the cars by
an official Land Rover dealer in Belgium or Luxembourg. Eventually import and / or
VAT taxes on the cars must be paid by the new owners according to the regulations
of their respective country laws and Belgium laws.
For the World Cup Grand Prix the rider can also choose for the cash !
IMPORTANT
The value of the 1 st prize must not exceed 1/3 of the total prize money distributed for
the competition. The minimum number of prizes offered for each competition must be
allocated on the basis of one prize for every commenced four Athletes, with a minimum
of five prizes. The total amount of prize money shown for each Competition in the

OPEN to Top 5 of the present Belgian Riders and Top 5 of the present foreign riders (1
rider/country) according to Rolex ranking 131 (1.12.2011). A course of 6 obstacles (one
double) is build at 1m45. Every time a rider enters the ring, he must raise one fence of his choice,
from the first jump off. The first fault will eliminate the rider. In this case the fence that was raised
will be put back to its original height. The fences can only be raised a second time if all the fences
were raised and stayed at this height. In case of equality of penalties after the 3 rd jump off, a 4 th
jump off on time, without changing the height of the fences, will take place as final tiebreaker.
Max. height & spread in the fourth round are: Height: 1m70 max. – Spread: 2m max. –
Triple bar : 2m20 max.

Competition over 2 rounds
The competition will be carried out over two rounds, according to FEI art. 273-3.3; the
first and second round against the clock, with a time allowed.
25% of the number of athletes in the first round according to their faults and time in the
first round and in any case all clear rounds, will be allowed to compete in the 2 nd round,
over a different course.
The starting order for the second round will be the reverse order of penalties and time,
incurred in the 1 st round.
