7. Environment Management both quantitative & qualitative:<br />
A Land Environment<br />
A1) Landscape : Hilly<br />
A2) Aesthetic Environment: Satisfactory<br />
ROM is despatched to Noamundi wet Processing plant for<br />
beneficiation <strong>of</strong> low grade & subgrade ore .<br />
Hydrocyclone & jigging plant is introduced at Noamundi Processing<br />
plant to improve recovery <strong>of</strong> iron values from fines.<br />
A3) Soil & land use pattern: Top soil is stored separately & subsequently used for plantation.<br />
A4) Agriculture: No Agriculture land was there within the lease<br />
A5) Forest (Flora & fauna) :Diversified flora species & fauna exist inside the lease.<br />
A6) Vegetation: vegetation disturbed only in broken area.<br />
A7) Public building, places & monuments (protected monument & historical monument),<br />
Places <strong>of</strong> worship & places <strong>of</strong> tourist interest. : No monuments within the lease.<br />
B Water Environment:<br />
B1) Surface water: Toewall,garland drain etc. are provided around the<br />
dump to prevent the contamination <strong>of</strong> surface water.<br />
B2 ) Ground water : Ground Water table not intercepted yet due to opencast working.<br />
B3) Quality <strong>of</strong> water: The water quality is monitored regularly and all the parameters are<br />
within the permissible limit.<br />
C) Air Environment :<br />
C1) Noise : Monitoring is done regularly & noise levels are within the permissible limit.<br />
C2) Air : Monitoring is done regularly & parameters are within the permissible limit.<br />
C3) Climatic condition : Sub-tropical<br />
D) Socio economic environment:<br />
D1) Social & demographic pr<strong>of</strong>ile : Within the colony there is presence <strong>of</strong> people <strong>of</strong> different<br />
region and religion and <strong>of</strong> varied demographic.<br />
D2) Recommending health & safety : OHSAS-18001 system is in place and hence OHS aspect<br />
is taken care.<br />
D3) Human settlement :Within the ML area there is a colony for employees.<br />
D4)Recreational facility : recreational facilities being provided for the<br />
employee like parks ,garden,club,fountain park etc<br />
8. Sensitive technical items on conservation <strong>of</strong> mineral, scientific mining and protection <strong>of</strong> Environment: Is<br />
being taken care as per mining plan (Specific issues that are required to be kept in focus for examination &<br />
monitoring should be stated here) : There is no specific issues.
