VITA<br />

The author w<strong>as</strong> born in Taegu, South Korea, on January 7, 1961. At the age <strong>of</strong> 14, her<br />

family immigrated to Paraguay, South America, <strong>and</strong> she graduated from the Faculty <strong>of</strong> Chemical<br />

Science <strong>and</strong> Pharmacy at the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion in December 1987. She returned<br />

to her country on January 1988, to enter the college <strong>of</strong> pharmacy at Seoul National University<br />

<strong>and</strong> received a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science degree in pharmacy in January 1991. In 1992, she got<br />

married <strong>and</strong> the next year she <strong>and</strong> her family moved to USA. She joined the Department <strong>of</strong> Food<br />

Science at Louisiana State University in January 2001. She conducted research under Dr. Witoon<br />

Prinyawiwatkul's supervision. She is currently a c<strong>and</strong>idate for a M<strong>as</strong>ter <strong>of</strong> Science degree in food<br />

science.<br />
