Thorn Down is now Thorn Hill, at the N. end of the<br />

parish (OMi). The tumuli (OM6) are still there. The<br />

foxholes of Bio were probably at the extreme N. point<br />

of the parish, a short 3 fur. SSE. of Long Barrow (OMi).<br />

The boundary stone of A6 etc. was probably at the short<br />

<strong>be</strong>nd which the W. <strong>by</strong>. makes about 300 yds. N. of Stanton<br />

Beeches (OMi). The down just N. of <strong>this</strong> is c<strong>all</strong>ed Harestone<br />

Down. The Hline Raewe was possibly on the W. <strong>by</strong>.<br />

just N. of the Wansdyke (OMi); and the black grove<br />

<strong>must</strong> also have <strong>be</strong>en about there. The sharp stone and<br />

Cobba's stone <strong>must</strong> therefore have <strong>be</strong>en on the W. <strong>by</strong>.<br />

<strong>be</strong>tween the Wansdyke and the dean of A3 etc.<br />

Stane : ' Then down to Long Dean to a Stone.'<br />
