EXPORTING AND IMPORTING DOCUMENTS Exporting and Importing Documents T-FLEX CAD allows exporting its 2D drawings and 3D models into other graphical system formats. The list of exported formats includes: Windows Metafiles (*.wmf), Enhanced Windows Metafiles (*.emf), AutoCAD files (*.dwg), AutoCAD DXF files (*.dxf), Only for 2D drawings AutoCAD DXB files (*.dxb), T-FLEX CAD Metafiles (*.bmf), T-FLEX CAD Metafiles with hidden line removal (*.bmf), For 2D drawing and 3D Raster Image (*.bmp, *.jpg, *.gif, *.tiff, *.png, *.tga) models Stereo Lithography (*.stl), AutoCAD DXF 3D files (*.dxf), Parasolid files (*.xmt_txt), Parasolid Binary files (*.xmt_txt), IGES ЗD (*.igs, *.iges), STEP AP203 3D (*.stp, *.step), VRML 2.0 files (*.wrl), Open Inventor files (*.iv), POV-Ray (*.pov), Rhino Model (*.3dm). Fundamentals. Two-Dimensional Design 684 When porting models from T-FLEX CAD to other systems and from other systems to T-FLEX CAD, you are strongly advised to prefer the STEP to the IGES format whenever possible as the more advanced one. Besides the above-listed formats, the 3D configuration of the system supports import of VRML 2.0 (*.wrl) and Open Inventor (*.iv) files by the command “3I: Insert 3D Picture". This capability is described in details in the chapter “3D Pictures” of the Three-dimensional Modeling User Manual. Besides that, it is possible to import files in the IDF (P-CAD) (*.brd, *.emn) format, using a separately installed external application. Exporting Documents Exporting T-FLEX CAD documents to other system formats is done by the command “EX: Export Drawing Or Model”: Keyboard Textual Menu Icon or “File|Export” After calling the command, a standard File Save dialog appears on the screen. In this dialog, specify the desired format and the name of the file, in which the exported drawing is to be saved. Next, depending on the selected export format, either the file will be saved at once (as in the formats: Windows Metafiles, Enhanced Windows Metafiles, T- FLEX CAD Metafiles, Metafiles with hidden line removal, VRML 2.0), or you will have to specify additional parameters described below (for all the rest formats).
