BOM Export Bill of Materials For exporting BOM data or the BOM itself to the Excel file (xls), the command “BS: Export BOM” is used: Keyboard Textual Menu Icon «Tools|Bill of Materials|Export…» After calling this command, the dialog window with the list of export options appears on the screen. From the list the user can select the export of BOM table and export of BOM data. When exporting the BOM table, only the contents of the BOM table is transferred to the Excel document. The sequence and the composition of columns in the table, the row sequence, etc. are retained. When exporting the BOM data to the Excel document, all internal data, on the basis of which the BOM was created, is transferred. All sorting rules and rules for combining the records, used in the BOM, are ignored. The result of the export operation will be different from the initial BOM appearance in the T-FLEX CAD document. If the original T-FLEX CAD document contains several BOM, the result of the export operation will be the multipage Excel document. Each BOM is exported to a separate page (sheet). The export is carried out by macros located in the folder “…/Program/BOMExport”. If necessary, for exporting BOM to different formats, the user can add his own macros to this folder. Editing Positions An existing position can be edited or a BOM leader added by the command “Positions…”. To do this, move the pointer to the leader note to be edited and right click . In the coming up menu select the item “Positions…”. A dialog box will appear on the screen, with the BOM displayed in its left hand side pane, and the leader note text in the right hand side one. 637
Fundamentals. Two-Dimensional Design How to define the position number? Select the current position in the right hand side pane of the “BOM Leaders” dialog box. The corresponding record will be highlighted in the BOM. In the BOM, select the record, whose number is to be assigned to the current position. The position number in the drawing will change after the confirmation in the dialog. How to insert a leader note before and after the position number? 638 Double-click on the current position in the right hand side pane of the “BOM Leaders” dialog box. Enter the necessary information before or after the double braces. Upon the confirmation, this information will be entered in the drawing. How to add BOM leaders and link them to other positions? To do this, select the record in the BOM, whose position number is to be added to the current position (the left hand side pane of the “BOM Leaders” dialog box). (The current position should not be selected.) After the call the command “New” in this dialog box: Keyboard Textual Menu Icon None As a result, the position number of the selected record will be displayed in the right hand side pane of the dialog box. The position numbers in the drawing will follow the order of the current positions in the right hand side pane of the discussed dialog box. Their placement can be modified by using the commands: “Move Up”/ “Move Down” (the icons / ). Upon the confirmation in this dialog, an additional BOM leader with the selected position will be displayed in the drawing. Positions placement also depends on where the additional BOM leaders are located, above or below. The BOM leader placement for the current document is defined in the parameters of the command “IN: Create Leader Note”. A BOM leader can be deleted using the command “Delete”: Keyboard Textual Menu Icon None
