The icons for managing the list elements are located on the right of the list:
Bill of Materials
- Adding a new record - Making copies of highlighted list elements
- Deleting highlighted list elements. - Selecting all elements in the list
Various records may exist in the document, for example:
• The one included in the assembly BOM (the section “Parts” or “Assembly units”);
• The one included in the current document BOM (the section “Documentation”). The entry “Part
Number” for this record is controlled by the variable, whose contents are formed from the document
name using the function stripping the document code (for example, “AS”).
Some of the record entries (“Description”, “Part Number”, “Material”, “Weight”) are controlled by the
hidden default variables, copied from the document prototype. The contents of these variables are also
entered in the respective entries of the title block. Therefore, regardless of how the values were entered (in
the variable editor, the “Bill of Materials Data” dialog box or in the title block entries), the data are
automatically displayed in all these entries.
A new record is initiated by pressing or by entering data in any entry when the list of records is empty.
The default type of a new record is “Include as Fragment” (with the respective flag being set). If necessary,
you can change the record type by using the flag “Include in the current Document” individually or
combined with a previous one. The BOM data values get defined as the entries are filled that are described
below.
