Care Concept policy summary<br />
This information is a summary of the Care Concept policy. The summary highlights the main features and<br />
exclusions to help you decide if the policy meets your needs. It does not contain all the terms and conditions<br />
that may apply, this information can be found in the policy document. A copy of the policy will be sent to you<br />
after you have taken out the insurance but is available beforehand from us or your advisor on request. When<br />
you take out cover with us we will issue you with a schedule and document details the cover you have<br />
chosen.<br />
<strong>Insurance</strong> Providers<br />
Sections 1,2, 4 to 6 and 9 to 12 is underwritten by Allianz <strong>Insurance</strong> plc - 57 Ladymead,<br />

Duration of Contract<br />
The standard duration of this non-investment insurance contract is 12 months from the start date on your<br />
policy schedule.<br />

Registration, Public/Products/Employers Liabilities, Medical Malpractice, Legal Expenses, Loss Recovery,<br />

Section 1 – Contents<br />

Section 2 – Business Interruption<br />

Covers your trading losses which follow a damage claim<br />
under the Contents section and or Buildings sections.<br />
You will be asked to provide your estimated gross revenue<br />
which should represent your fee income which you<br />
anticipate will be earned by the business during the 12<br />
months corresponding with the forthcoming period of<br />
insurance. We will also require this information prior to<br />
each renewal.<br />

For example, covers your additional costs should a major<br />
supplier of equipment or medical supplies suffer a<br />
significant fire as a consequence of which you have to use<br />
alternative suppliers.<br />

The most we will pay is up to 133.3% of the estimated gross<br />
revenue.<br />
If you have not supplied us with an up-to-date estimate of your<br />
gross revenue, the most we will pay will be the sum insured shown<br />
on the schedule.<br />

Section 3 – Engineering Breakdown and Business Interruption<br />

Cover One a – Engineering Material Damage<br />
Cover for sudden and unforeseen damage, including<br />
Breakdown, Explosion, Collapse and accidental damage<br />
on Plant and Machinery and Pressure Plant<br />
Plant and Machinery includes a range of items used in<br />
connection with the Business which operate under<br />
electrical and/or mechanical power<br />
Pressure Plant includes boiler plant, plant subject to<br />
internal steam pressure, plant used to contain fluids under<br />
pressure or vacuum and associated piping.<br />

Losses will be settled on a reinstatement basis with the exception of<br />

used for the generation of electricity (other than standby<br />
reciprocating engine and generator sets up to one mega watt per<br />
<br />
glass lined vessels<br />
used mainly outdoors or installed outdoors unless used in<br />
connection with the supply of mains gas water or electricity<br />
that is obsolete in which case the cost of repair or replacement of<br />
an equivalent item of equipment in current production will be paid<br />

onerous than the Model Conditions for hiring of plant approved by<br />

Electronic Equipment.<br />

The recompilation of Computer Media from other records<br />

Breakdown of Computer Equipment and Auxiliary<br />
Equipment whilst in Transit<br />
Cover Two – Engineering Business Interruption<br />
Cover for any Financial Loss suffered following loss or<br />
damage insured under Cover One a or b<br />
The Limit of Liability for this section is £250,000 for Computer<br />
Equipment and £115,000 for Electronic Equipment.<br />
Losses will be settled on a Reinstatement basis.<br />
There is a Special Condition requiring the Insured to back up data<br />
records and where possible store off site with duplicate copies of<br />
software programs.<br />
There is also a Special Condition stating that the amount paid for<br />
loss or damage to tubes and intermediate image carriers will reduce<br />
depending on the estimated running life of the items.<br />

Financial Loss is covered in three ways:<br />
Reduction in anticipated Revenue<br />
The increase in the cost of working in diminishing the reduction of<br />
Revenue<br />
The loss resulting from being unable to trace an Outstanding Debit<br />
Balance.<br />
There is a Special Condition requiring a record to be kept at the end<br />
of each month of the total amount outstanding in ea<br />
accounts at that time.<br />
The main exclusions are:<br />
Time exclusion of 48 hours.<br />
Insured Events covered under Section 1 of the Care Concept <strong>Policy</strong><br />

Section 4 – Money (inc Personal Injury Assault)<br />

temporarily outside the UK in connection with your<br />

indemnity for awards of compensation, all providing You<br />
have followed the advice of the<br />

Prior to carrying out a disciplinary procedure.<br />
Prior to dismissal of an employee.<br />
Prior to instituting a redundancy programme and prior to<br />

Cover 4. Contract Disputes<br />
Disputes with suppliers and customers concerning a<br />
contract for the sale, or supply of goods or services,<br />
provided:<br />
The amount in dispute exceeds £500.<br />
If the dispute relates to monies owed to You, You notify the<br />
designated debt collection service within 30 days and<br />
agree to instruct them on a no win no fee basis.<br />
Legal Expenses incurred in the pursuit of any claim or legal<br />
proceedings shall be limited to 75% of the amount in<br />
dispute.<br />
If the dispute relates to a construction contract the work is<br />
carried out to Your property and the work is incidental to<br />
Your normal business activity.<br />
Cover 5. Property Disputes<br />
Pursuit or defence of disputes over:<br />
Possession of Your property.<br />
The terms of Your tenancy agreement.<br />
Alleged negligence, damage or nuisance to Your property.<br />
Cover 6. Tax Protection<br />
Expert representation for Your business in the event of<br />
either an in-depth tax or an aspect investigation, a VAT<br />
tribunal, or an Employer Compliance dispute.<br />
Cover 7. Data Protection<br />
Defence of claims arising out of an application or appeal<br />
under the Data Protection Act and payment of<br />
compensation awards made against You under the Act.<br />
Cover 8. Personal Injury<br />
Pursuit of claims for compensation following a personal<br />

Contracts where the rights or liabilities are incurred through an<br />

Loss Recovery <strong>Insurance</strong> policy is fully underwritten by<br />
certain Underwriters at Lloyds under Binding Authority<br />
ces<br />
Authority.<br />
Loss Recovery <strong>Insurance</strong> provides you with the services<br />
of a qualified insurance expert, to prepare and negotiate<br />
usiness<br />
interruption claims dependent upon the relevant sections of<br />
your commercial insurance policy being current at the time<br />
of loss.<br />
Our qualified insurance expert will:<br />
i. Provide the services for eligible claims under your<br />
commercial insurance policy likely to exceed £5,000 or the<br />
policy excess whichever is the greater.<br />
ii. Provide initial telephone advice on all claims.<br />
iii. Provide personal visits on all qualifying claims.<br />
iv. Arrange interim payments from your insurers where<br />
necessary.<br />
v. Attend meetings with insurers and handle all<br />
correspondence.<br />
vi. Organize temporary premises and equipment,<br />
surveyors, valuers and builders as required.<br />
vii. Prepare and present your claim to your insurers and<br />
negotiate the best possible settlement to which you are<br />
entitled.<br />
Loss Recovery <strong>Insurance</strong> excludes claims in respect of personal<br />
injury, liability, marine, aviation, motor, personal property or injury,<br />
subsidence, landslip or heave claims, uninsured losses, civil<br />
proceedings and any claim outside mainland UK.<br />
The cover arranged is for claims consultant fees in respect of<br />
eligible claims within the terms and conditions of the policy that are<br />
likely to exceed £5,000 or the policy excess whichever is the greater<br />
value. It is important for you to note that all claims must be reported<br />
to your broker within 15 days of its occurrence to enable you to<br />
receive the benefits of your Loss Recovery <strong>Insurance</strong> policy.<br />

Public authorities – including undamaged<br />
portions<br />
To comply with building or other regulations under law<br />
including those arising from Care Standards legislation<br />
following a fire or other insured event.<br />
Glass<br />
Covers accidental damage to all glass, sanitary fixtures &<br />
signs.<br />
Extensions and renovations<br />
Minor building works extension - For some formal<br />
building contracts such as the JCT Minor Building Contract,<br />
upon your notification we can activate this policy extension.<br />
It provides you with the cover you need to comply with your<br />
uilding<br />
contract and includes your obligation to insure both the<br />
new works and the existing premises n the joint names of<br />
yourself and the contractor.<br />
Excluding properties that have already suffered from subsidence,<br />
unless accepted by us, and damage resulting from structural<br />
alterations.<br />
You select the sum insured, which is the most we will pay.<br />
Excluding requirements in place before the damage occurred.<br />
You must tell us about these as they are a material fact which may<br />
change<br />
our view of the risk to be insured. In most cases we can continue to<br />
offer cover but we may ask for additional protections to be put into<br />
irs or<br />
redecorating that does not involve the use of scaffolding.<br />
Limit £100,000 for the new works and site materials.<br />
The policy sums insured will apply in respect of the existing building<br />
and contents.<br />

Section 10 – Personal Belongings<br />
<strong>Policy</strong> Benefit Significant Exclusions & Limitations<br />
For the resident proprietor and his family, this section offers<br />
full accidental loss or damage cover for clothing and<br />
personal effects anywhere in the UK.<br />
Combines with the cover provided under Contents (for<br />
<br />
to provide a comprehensive personal lines coverage for the<br />
resident proprietor and family.<br />
Sums insured<br />
Increased by index-linking until settlement of the claim, but<br />
you must ensure the sum insured is enough to cover the<br />
maximum amount of such property you and your family are<br />
likely to take away from the home at any one time e.g. on<br />
a family holiday.<br />
Section 11 – Personal Accident<br />
Excluding theft from unattended vehicles unless the vehicle is<br />
locked, the property hidden from view and there is evidence of a<br />
forced entry.<br />
The sum insured will be the most we will pay.<br />

You can insure yourself or your permanent employees<br />
against accidental injuries whilst working for the business<br />
or, for full-time staff only, 24 hours-a- day.<br />
Section 12 – Employee Dishonesty<br />
You can choose the amount of cover required, from one unit which<br />
gives a capital benefit (for death, permanent total<br />
of £2,500 to 10 units which give a capital benefit of £25,000.<br />
Excluding certain hazardous sports or activities.<br />

Covers loss of your money or contents by the dishonesty of<br />
employees. Includes the costs of professional auditors to<br />
substantiate the amount of your claim.<br />
£25,000 any one period of insurance.<br />
In the case of multiple policies covering theft by the same<br />
employee, £50,000 in total.<br />
Excluding losses where you have not followed these minimum<br />
precautions:-<br />
- You must obtain written references for employees with<br />
responsibility for money or stock for the 12 months prior<br />
to their employment with you. References must be from<br />
their former employers, and you must keep the<br />
references for us to inspect in the event of a claim.<br />
- Professional auditors must undertake at least one full<br />
audit per annum.<br />
- All stock must be independently and physically checked<br />
at least annually.<br />
- Cash takings must be independently reconciled with<br />
receipts and stamped bank paying-in slips at least<br />
weekly.<br />

Conditions apply clarifying the responsibilities of both parties in<br />
ensuring that the Inspection Service is undertaken in a safe and<br />
timely manner.<br />
Termination, Confidentiality and Complaints conditions apply.<br />
Allianz Engineering Inspection Services Ltd also confirm that their<br />
liability under contract is limited to £25,000,000.<br />
SETTLING CLAIMS<br />
For material loss or damage claims we will repair the damage or replace the property or we will pay you the<br />
cost of doing so. For other claims we will pay you the amount of your loss as covered under the terms of the<br />
section.<br />
EXCESSES<br />
• Section 1 – Subsidence £1000. All other claims £150<br />
• Section 3 – £250<br />
• Section 7 – variable as shown above<br />
• Section 9 – Subsidence £1000. All other claims £150<br />
• Section 10 – £50<br />
• Section 12 – £250<br />
• Sections 2, 4, 5, 6 11, 13 – nil<br />
Significant exclusions and limitations that apply on a general basis<br />
• Excluding war and similar risks<br />
• Excluding terrorism<br />
• Excluding computer date-recognition problems, computer viruses and<br />
hacking<br />
• You may not be covered under this policy if you fail to tell us about any<br />
significant changes to the premises or your business<br />
• You must tell us if the premises become unoccupied<br />
• We may not pay your claim for fire if you fail to maintain the fire<br />
extinguishers at the premises, or fail to comply with regulations on the<br />
cleaning and maintaining of frying and cooking equipment. Filters and<br />
ducting must be cleaned as necessary (at least annu<br />
carry out inspections at least monthly.<br />

our response, or inform you of the progress being made.<br />
• If you are not satisfied with our response, or we have not completed our investigation after 8 weeks,<br />
