The principle is technically simple<br />

but very effective. A V-groove is<br />

situated in the centre electrode of<br />

these V-Line spark plugs. This<br />

forces the spark to occur at the<br />

outer edge of the centre electrode<br />

where it is easier to ignite the<br />

fuel/air mixture.<br />

The principle of the spark plug for<br />

BMW is to “catch” the current<br />

which is leaking away over the<br />

deposits and create a spark.<br />

Spark discharge occurs between<br />

insulator and ground electrode.<br />

The carbon deposits are removed<br />

and the fuel/air mixture will be<br />

ignited.<br />
