children and youth with disabilities.<br />

4. Provide a special orientati<strong>on</strong> of<br />

HealthPartners for families with children and<br />

youth with disabilities so that:<br />

* Families understand resources available through<br />

the system and how to access them, including<br />

c<strong>on</strong>tinuing care, mental health services, social work<br />

services, and case management;<br />

* Families learn how to appeal the system; and<br />

* Families feel they are heard.<br />

5. Promote the use of mental health services so<br />

that:<br />

* Outside c<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> is available to families<br />

working through the issue of having a child with a<br />

chr<strong>on</strong>ic c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>; and<br />

* Pediatric health psychologists are available and<br />

familiar with the needs and stresses of families.<br />

6. Expand the hours of service to help meet<br />

working family's needs and minimize loss of<br />

school time for the children.<br />
