Title Development of Global Quality Assessment Tool for Women and<br />

Children<br />

Descripti<strong>on</strong> This project is developing a comprehensive set of primarily<br />

process measures for children. Plans will be scored <strong>on</strong> their<br />

performance across several dimensi<strong>on</strong>s of care - screening,<br />

diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The children's health care<br />

measure set c<strong>on</strong>tains 515 pediatric and adolescent indicators<br />

addressing 23 c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s, including acne, allergic rhinitis,<br />

asthma, attenti<strong>on</strong> deficit/hyperactivity disorder, cesarean delivery,<br />

depressi<strong>on</strong>, developmental screening, diabetes, diarrhea, family<br />

planning, fever, headache, immunizati<strong>on</strong>, medicati<strong>on</strong> prescripti<strong>on</strong><br />

errors, otitis media, prenatal care, adolescent preventive care,<br />

sickle cell anemia, tuberculosis, upper respiratory infecti<strong>on</strong>s,<br />

urinary infecti<strong>on</strong>s. vaginitis/STDs, and well child care.<br />

A. Title Ensuring Quality Project<br />

New England SERVE l<br />

Descripti<strong>on</strong> A model for m<strong>on</strong>itoring the quality of family-centered care<br />

provided for children with special health care needs in managed<br />

care settings is being developed. Data collecti<strong>on</strong> instruments will<br />

include measures of family and provider satisfacti<strong>on</strong>, plan<br />

performance, as well as administrative informati<strong>on</strong>, as follows:<br />

Family Survey: Family participati<strong>on</strong> and overall<br />

satisfacti<strong>on</strong> with health plan informati<strong>on</strong> available to<br />

families, written health care plan, primary care services,<br />

specialty care services, health services supplies and<br />

equipment, mental health services, and care coordinati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
