summarizes available informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> clinical performance<br />

measures. The measure database includes 1,185 measures and the<br />

c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> database c<strong>on</strong>tains 52 c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

The c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong> database includes the following pediatric chr<strong>on</strong>ic<br />

care measures: ADHD; anorexia nervosa; anxiety; asthma;<br />

bulimia nervosa; early HIV infecti<strong>on</strong>; diabetes - Type 1, 11; otitis<br />

media-acute, with effusi<strong>on</strong>; pediatric HlV positive: schizophrenia:<br />

and sickle cell disease.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>duct, coordinate, and disseminate research <strong>on</strong> improved pediatric<br />

care.<br />

* The Functi<strong>on</strong>al Outcomes Project is developing c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>specific<br />

measures for asthma, otitis media, juvenile<br />

rheumatoid arthritis, and head injury. The functi<strong>on</strong>al areas<br />

that are assessed include physical activity, emoti<strong>on</strong>al health,<br />

socialinteracti<strong>on</strong>s, and health care utilizati<strong>on</strong>. These are<br />

currently in a pilot-test phase. The l<strong>on</strong>g-range goal of this<br />

project is to develop measures for several of the most<br />

comm<strong>on</strong> or serious c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s affecting children.<br />
