Operating the Reader (continued) Problem Solution The reader appears to be locked up or is beeping every 10 seconds. When you press to turn on the reader, it displays the Boot Loader menu. Read the status messages at the bottom of the menu. If the messages tell you to resume, choose Resume from the Boot Loader menu. If the messages tell you to reboot, choose Reboot from the Boot Loader menu to cold boot the reader. You may be able to save the contents of the physical RAM drive. For help, see “Saving the Contents of the RAM Drive” later in this chapter. Caution When the reader performs a cold boot, all files on the physical RAM drive are destroyed.
