Hublot Polo Gold Cup
Gstaad 2008
Hublot is the new sponsor for the third
Gstaad polo tournament one of the most
important competitions in Switzerland that
will take place between the 14th and 17th of
August.
An appropriate choice because the Polo Gold
Cup in Gstaad is very popular, pulling in the
crowds and attracting motivated partners.
Hublot watches know the polo world well
having already sponsored the Buenos Aires
cup last March. During the Argentine event,
Hublot presented the “Big Bang” a special
edition limited to 250 pieces and bearing the
logo of the Polo Club Gstaad. Hublot have
chosen Miguel Novillo Astrada (handicap of
10), as the brand’s ambassador and he will be
present at the Gstaad meeting.
The three other team sponsors this year are
Land Rover, Gstaad Palace and El Mirasol.
The four teams
The level of the tournament will be fixed at a
total combined handicap of 18, placing it at
high goal standard, the highest level of the
Swiss summer tournaments.
The four team patrons this year will be Fabien
Picter (Swiss, residing in London), Thomas
Rinderknecht from Zurich, Franck Dubarry
(French but living in Buenos Aires, St Tropez
and Miami) and Robert Kofler from Austria.
These patrons will make up their teams of the
best Argentine players in order to reach the
combined handicap of 18 per team.
The Hublot Polo Gold Cup and the World
Polo Tour
The players who participate in the Gstaad
tournament will, according to their performance
be awarded points counting towards
their international handicap rating in the
World Polo Tour, thus ensuring the presence
of the best Argentine players on the polo fields
of Gstaad.
