Jaeger-LeCoultre team travels from England
to Argentina with an aristocratic elegance.
Distinguished like a real princess, the straight
posture, the careful gestures, the blond satin
mane, the discreet smile. Clare Milford has all
the attractions and grace of an actress.
But enjoying defying the times and thwarting
appearances, she is a polo player, it is her great
passion (she even collects mallets), but she was
for some time a journalist most notably with
the Tatler.

Horses seem to be second nature to her, she
understands them just by touching them and
looking in the whites of their eyes, she has
ridden every day since her childhood. It was
part of her upbringing, as her parents own a
stud farm in Sussex.
A loyal member of the “Cowdray Park Polo
Club” Clare Milford enjoys competitions,
travelling and discovering new polo fields the
world over, she is never separated from her
Argentine leather boots made especially for
her. You may have seen her on the most
beautiful polo fields in Spain, Italy, South
Africa, India, Mexico, Argentina and Chile?
When she is not at home in Surrey in England
or in Switzerland in the family chalet in Verbier
where she enjoys relaxing with her children.
Her dearest wish? To win the Cowdray Gold
Cup. And for the 6 years that she has been
playing under the banner of Jaeger-LeCoultre
she has worn on her wrist the famous Reverso
Duetto, indispensable for polo players such as
a stubborn and determined captain.
Her little weakness? Other than Laurent-
Perrier champagne, she adores Nescafé and
can drink up to 18 cups a day.

The Corazza family have been in the cigar
business for 5 generations, in Costa Rica they
started by representing the best-known brands
and then thanks to their huge success and a
quality clientele of cigar lovers they created
their own factory “Brun del Ré” using rich and

Thirty years separate Rudolf who founded the
brand and his son Carlos who continues his
work, through their business they represent
60 brands of cigars; Davidoff, Perdomo, Don
Esteban, Bahia, Gurkha and Padron to name
but a few. In San José today they are the cigar

The Premium (white ring) is for those who are
just embarking on their wonderful adventure
into the world of cigars and who want to
continue their exploration. Hand-made, it
reveals superior tobaccos from Nicaragua and
is enveloped in its cape by specially trained
rollers. An elegant cigar with a light flavour.
The Connoisseur (green ring) symbolises total
opulence; you could call it a gourmet cigar, as
it is so distinguished, pure and rich. It is
perfect for fine palates that take the time to
savour and is reminiscent of sophisticated
dishes. The Gold (black ring) is the result of
a mixture of extremely refined tobaccos; it is

whisky and rum. The club and shop “Mundo
de los Puros” (the World of Cigars) is found
in the Plaza Colonial Escazú in San José. It is
a perfect setting with luxury shops and
gastronomic restaurants for neighbours, the
meeting place for the city’s jet set. The motto
of this lounge is simple “Because smoking is
a pleasure”; both men and women share
moments of relaxation and pleasure in an
elegant setting that artfully combines the
perfumed and voluptuous fragrances of the
elitist quintessence of the best cigars in the
world.

A treasure trove
Marvellous timepieces at the heart of Geneva
Audemars Piguet has moved into its new
quarters at Place de la Fusterie
To be discovered.
“Patience is the wisdom of those who have the
time”. Audemars Piguet would probably agree
with these words by Canadian writer Bertrand
Vac. Envisaging nothing less than excellence;
the manufacturers from Brassus have been
looking for a new address in Geneva for quite
some time. Lady Luck came to their rescue
during a dinner, Georges-Henri Meylan,
general manager and administrator and
Nicolas Kappenberger general manager of the
Swiss market found the place they had long
been looking for. At 12 Place de la Fusterie, the
Baroque bar lounge commands reverence, a
new story begins for Audemars Piguet. It was
the 6th of March last year and then the 29th
May, the day of the official opening that
customers were able to explore the 300m2 of
this new setting.
High ceilings and salons, a section for ladies
painted a delicate violet and an absolute must
an open workshop where you can see the
watchmakers at work. At the centre Octavio
Garcia chief designer for Audemars Piguet has
kept the long bar style table in the Baroque to

make an attractive display case. An exhibition
space completes the picture, a subtle reminder
of the manufacturers unique savoir-faire.
For Georges-Henri Meylan it was important
that the brands largest store was located in
Geneva, “A natural homage to Switzerland,
land of watchmakers” he says and to celebrate
this Audemars Piguet have created the “Rhône
Place Fusterie” watch in red and white limited
to 500 pieces.
In Geneva it is impossible not to react to the
cosy atmosphere of the boutique; the décor
merrily combines glass and wood, textiles and
technology with illuminated displays and
underlines the image of the Swiss brand;
respect for tradition and the past and a sense
of modernity. This new boutique is also a mine

of information because the documents relating
to the majority of Audemars Piguet watches
have been brought together in Geneva;
incredible archives that guarantee each owner
an impeccable after-sales service. Audemars
Piguet will soon be opening a similar store in
Madrid but in the heart of the brand
Switzerland will always have a special place;
the largest boutique is in Geneva and the
smallest in Gstaad. One thing that all have in
common; the sense of eternity.
