Description - Control or Data Parity Error<br />

Indication - DISPLAY SELECT -- I/O C MEM<br />

CHANGE 2<br />

Reason - A parity error has occurred in either a control byte governing the<br />

operation of the punch or in a data byte.<br />

Action - Consult the supervisor. It will be necessary to determine if the<br />

parity error was in a control or data byte. It will also be necessary<br />

to determine whether this failure is only momentary or requires<br />

field engineering service.<br />

4.6.2.4 PROCESSOR<br />

Description - General Purpose Channel Error<br />

Indication - DISPLAY SELECT -- PROC A - CHAN<br />

Reason - An abnormal condition exists in a peripheral unit connected to the<br />

processor through the general purpose channel.<br />

Action - Consult the supervisor to locate the source of the error.<br />

Description - Address Error<br />

Indication - DISPLAY SELECT -- PROC A - ADD<br />

Reason - An attempt has been made to enter a restricted address location or<br />

to address a location beyond the capacity of the memory of the system<br />

being used.<br />

Action - Consult the supervisor to locate the source of the error.<br />

Description - Parity Error or Divide Error (Hardware)<br />

Indication - DISPLAY SELECT -- PROC A - MEM<br />

Reason - A parity error has occurred in the processor or, if the system is<br />

equipped with the optional multiply, divide, and edit feature, an<br />

error has occurred while performing division.<br />

Action - Consult the supervisor to determine the nature of the error and<br />

whether it is momentary or requires field engineering service.
