The wholesale and retail coal dealers of Ohio
and the Ohio grain dealers held their convention
at Putin-Bay on July 6, with an attendance of
500. The principal topic of discussion was the
feasibility of establishing a cash basis among the
dealers .for coal when ordered, or before delivered.
Thirty Ohio towns will adopt this method for fall
business, and an attempt is being made to make it
universal in Ohio.

The Peoples Coal Co. was recently incorporated
at Bowling Green, Ky. Yards will be established
at the boat landing and Aberdeen and Reeder coals
will be handled. The conipany is about to begin
business.

H. C. Behrens, of Forest City, Iowa, recently
sold out his entire line of coal and lumber at that
place to the Union Lumber Co.. of Minneapolis.

The Mohawk Valley Coal Co. has been incorporated
at Utica, N. Y.. with a capital of $7,500 to
do a retail coal and lumber business.

Henry Rippe, of Fairmont, Minn., recently incorporated
his milling and coal interests at that
point, with an authorized capital of $100,000.

The Dayton Coal Dealers' Association. Dayton,
Ohio, recently held an important meeting at which
the cash system was discussed and adopted.

The Henry A. Clark coal yards at Binghamton,
N. Y., owned by Harriet G. Clark, were recently
sold to Harry Spencer, of Scranton, Pa.

The large coal storage bin being erected by the
White Oak Coal Co. at Richmond, Va.. is almost
completed and will be in use very soon.
The Western Canada Cement & Coal Co., of
Ottawa, has been incorporated with a capital of
$1,250,000.

A. R. Moss has sold his coal and lumber business
at Reynolds, Neb., to the R. S. Proudfit Lumber
Co.

F. L. Anderson, Owatonna, Minn., recently sold
his wood and coal business at that point to D. P.
Rugg.

large coal shed and engage in the retail fuel business.
The Zinn Coal & Grain Co. has been incorporated
at Fort Worth, Tex., with a capital of $6,000.
The Iowa Coal Mining Co. has been incorporated
at Des Moines, la., with a capital of $10,000.

incorporated at Denver, with a capital of $25,000.

A. B. Cox has succeeded to the coal and ice
business of Drake & Cox. at New Franklin, Mo.

The Hacker Coal Co. has sold its business at
Wichita, Kas., to the East End Feed & Coal Co.
S. Austin has purchased the coal and lumber
business of Hupp & Stutts, at Lebanon, Neb.

A. W. Anderson has sold his coal business at
Butte, Mont., to the West Side Grocery Co.
