acterial immunoglobulin-binding proteins 99 bacterial vaccine
Fc Receptor
Fibroblast
Mouse fibroblast is transfected with
gene for human Fc receptor, CDw32
in adult respiratory distress syndrome, the Shwartzman
reaction, the Koch phenomenon, necrotizing T cell-dependent
granulomas, heat shock proteins, and the possible
development of autoimmunity. Thus, the immune response
to bacteria is varied and complex but effective in the animal
organism with an intact immune response.
bacterial immunoglobulin-binding proteins
Molecules expressed by selected microorganisms that interact
with immunoglobulin at sites other than their antigencombining
regions. Thus, the ability of an antibody to bind
its homologous antigen is not impaired. Gram-positive
bacteria express six types of IgG-binding protein, including
protein A (type I) which is expressed on Staphylococcus
aureus. Most human group A streptococci express type II
receptors and exhibit great variability in immunoglobulinbinding
capacity. Protein G, the type III IgG binding
protein, is expressed by most human group C and G streptococcal
isolates. Types IV, V, and VI immunoglobulinbinding
proteins require further investigation.
Mouse fibroblast expresses human Fc receptor on surface
Fibroblast
MAb89 binds to CD40 expressed on B-cells. The bound antibodies then bind,
through their Fc fragments, to the fibroblasts expressing Fc receptors.
B-Cell
B-Cell
The cross-linking of CD40 glycoproteins on B-cell surface triggers B-cell
proliferation, which is sustained in the presence of interleukin-4
MAb89
Monoclonal antibodies (MAb89) to
human B cell CD40 marker are made
MAb89 is added to cocultures of B cells
and fibroblasts expressing Fc receptor
for injection to generate active immunity to the same
microorganism.
