How the directory is organized The directory starts with an alphabetical list of organizations<br />
<strong>and</strong> businesses. Each is identifed by type: CB Creative business, NP Nonprofit cultural<br />
organization, CD Community/economic development, or NM News media/communications. You<br />
may find more information, including how to contact each organization, in the following section<br />
organized by primary <strong>and</strong> secondary markets <strong>and</strong> resource type.<br />
Potential errors Our research team used the most recently available data to assemble this<br />
directory (IRS tax records, business databases, telephone directories, <strong>and</strong> promotional literature).<br />
You should however, check phone directories or web sites for updated information as<br />
organizations move, go out of business, or change contact information. Researchers sorted <strong>and</strong><br />
coded based on the best available information, however it was not always obvious if an<br />
organization was a business or nonprofit or if it fell within one of the four categories or trade area.<br />
Please use the alphabetical index <strong>and</strong> look in more than one category to find a specific resource.<br />

The Beckwith Theatre Company is a not-for-profit community theater group dedicated to bringing<br />

The Howard Performing Arts Center is intended to be a cultural resource for the entire Michiana<br />

The <strong>Niles</strong> Burn Run is a 50 mile motorcycle benefit ride held every year in <strong>Niles</strong>, <strong>Michigan</strong>. The<br />
Burn Run was started in September of 2002 <strong>and</strong> in it's first two years had a combined total of 58<br />
bikes. Now the Burn Run hosts hundreds of bikes each year <strong>and</strong> continues to grow in popularity.<br />

Description<br />
Silverbrook cemetery, named after the brook that runs through it, is older than the state of<br />

Description<br />
A partnership for Meeting Ecological <strong>and</strong> Agricultural Needs within the Dowagiac River System<br />
(MEANDRS) -- is a not-for-profit organization begun in 1995 which is interested in education on,<br />
protection <strong>and</strong> restoration of, the Dowagiac River System.<br />
The ecological possibilities of the DRS, particularly as a trout stream, have long been recognized,<br />
<strong>and</strong> since its inception in 1995, MEANDRS has generated a good deal of public interest.<br />
MEANDRS has a governing board made up of riparian property owners <strong>and</strong> local government<br />
officials, with technical advisors from regional <strong>and</strong> State authorities <strong>and</strong> other interest groups. The<br />
group is multi-faceted <strong>and</strong> is working toward improving the DRS for recreation <strong>and</strong> other uses<br />
while maintaining <strong>and</strong> respecting the rights of riparian owners, farmers, <strong>and</strong> other stakeholders<br />

Only eight years older than the Declaration of Independence, the Chamber of Commerce is an<br />
organization that continues to foster growth in the business community. Since 1919 the Four<br />
Flags Area Chamber of Commerce has continued to prosper, <strong>and</strong> help the community in many<br />
ways. Our Chamber is one of the fastest growing Chambers of Commerce in the state of<br />
<strong>Michigan</strong>. The Four Flags Area Chamber serves all types of area businesses – from the small<br />
mom-<strong>and</strong>-pop shops to area fortune 500 companies. Although each business is unique in<br />
business types, practices, <strong>and</strong> personalities, the Four Flags Area Chamber is always willing to<br />
work with each individual business to help them prosper in every way possible.<br />
The Four Flags Area Chamber offers the business community, non-profit organizations, <strong>and</strong><br />
many clubs the chance to grow <strong>and</strong> prosper. In many cases the Chamber of Commerce<br />
