Oppenhiemer’s original ‘bliptastic sounds’
have been inspiring audiences from Dublin to
Denver. They play synth-driven electro pop
and their recent single has seen them hailed
as “the Simon and Garfunkel of the wired
generation”. The band plays live as a two
piece (drums, moogs, guitars, vocals). Their
new record, which is set for imminent release,
features guest vocals from Tim Wheeler and the
lush production of David Holmes.
”Oppenhiemer are like the Irish Flaming Lips
or Mates of State. It’s extremely rare for a band
from Belfast to have that otherworldly sound.
They’re an incredible new band so look out for

Workshop/Demonstration
Textiles & Colouration:
Foraging for Fibres
and Yarns
This is the first in a series of Specialist
Workshops backed up with individual resource
files for participants. They will include a short
introduction presentation followed by practical
demonstrations and hands-on interaction,
across topics such as fibre, yarn and material
identification, dyeing and coloration methods
and printing styles.
‘Foraging for Fibres and Yarns’ will comprise
a short presentation on the different types
of fibres and yarns available in the world of
textiles, their properties and how to identify
them. This will be followed by a fun hands-on
workshop identifying a range of natural and
synthetic fibres.

Share Music Workshops
Share Music NI is an inclusive arts organisation
working with integrated groups of disabled
and non-disabled participants in music
and related performing arts. This series of
workshops, presented in partnership with the
UU School of Creative Arts, creates training
opportunities for artists/students who may be
considering a career in the arts and disability
sector. The programme will also be of interest
to arts practitioners who wish to broaden
their portfolio and to anyone with an interest
in participating in interdisciplinary creative
workshops under the guidance of expert tutors.
Musicians and dancers from ‘Beyond Skin’,
an international arts organisation working to
combat racism, will be joined by staff from
the University’s School of Creative Arts, to
lead and shape this organic series of creative
workshops, that will culminate in a final public
performance.
