The University of Ulster’s Cultural Development Department
provides a ‘bridgehead’ between the University and the wider
world, contributing to the growth and expression of the cultural
richness of the University for the benefit of its staff, students and
the region as a whole.
The events and initiatives included in this brochure showcase
just some of the creative talent and ability emanating from the
University of Ulster. We very much hope you enjoy reading this

Michael is internationally regarded as one of the
most innovative and inspiring artists working in
textiles. Over the last twenty years he has explored and developed his
techniques, inventing many new and imaginative ways of integrating
textiles with other media. He has exhibited widely all over the world,
and his work is in several major collections, including the V&A Museum
in London and the National Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto, Japan.
