GREEN CARDS
Kerry Kisiel Jones May, 2008
Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve written one of these things and finally have some news to share...
After 15 years of teaching 5th & 6th graders and mentoring new teachers, I accepted a position as Assistant
Principal of South Side School, a 600-student Pre-K to grade 5 elementary school in the small city of
Bristol, CT. The position brings new professional and personal challenges as I balance the many needs
of students/teachers at school with the needs of my own young children, Eryk (age 7) and Molly (age 5).
Between dance lessons, baseball practice, exercise, and working longer hours, life is busy but rewarding!
Clifford Bernstein - Hokkaido, Japan December 2008
I am deeply ensconced in the hotel ownership and management business in Asia’s fastest growing mountain
resort at Niseko, Hokkaido. Anyone who wants to try the world’s most amazing and plentiful powder snow
should feel free to drop in.
LaTrena Davis Ingram January 2009
After working full time for almost 10 years as a staff attorney at a Level 1 Trauma Center/Hospital, I cut
my hours and now work part time as a contract attorney at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I cut my
hours to spend more time with my family, Kalen, 6, and Isaiah, 7, and my hubby, Charles Ingram. I look
forward to attending the 2009 reunion. I recently spent time with some of my AKA sorority sisters during
the Inauguration - Tanya Crossley, ‘89, Heather McDaniels, ‘90, Kristie Martin, ‘90, Shari Hubert, ‘90 and
Sharon Toomer Hopkins, ‘90.

CLASS OF 1989 SPRING 2009
Catherine Baggia Duwan - New Jersey February/March 2009
I had a great time seeing other 89s at the NYC mini reunion. I got to catch up with Nancy Obler Kaufman and
Jen Kochman.
We recently had our family vacation skiing in Taos, NM. On the way through Santa Fe, we stopped at artist
Mateo Romero’s studio to see his works in progress. He also has beautiful pieces on display at the Blue Rain
gallery in Santa Fe.
Looking forward to seeing some 89s, including Jamie Kershaw, at Shrek the Musical on Broadway later this
month.
I have just returned from a wonderful visit to the beautiful Seattle home of Carolyn Gardella. Carolyn is taking
a brief sabbatical from her duties as an OB/GYN professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
Carolyn is also a member of the Department of Surgery at the Veteran’s Administration. I got to spend some
quality time with Carolyn and her two beautiful children Hank and Olivia.
During my visit, I also went to a dinner party where four out of the 16 women gathered happened to be ‘89s!
Carolyn, me, Jarvis Murphy Weld and Laurie Fanger Reed enjoyed a lovely evening, accompanied by the
sister of Katy Beirle Klinkenberg, who is a dead ringer for Katy - so I felt like there were really 5 of us. It was
quite surreal.
Closer to home, I ran into Andrew Erlichson ‘89 and fellow New Yorker (although he went to my high
school’s archrival) while walking down Nassau Street here in Princeton. It seems he and his lovely wife Bari
(my ‘91 sorority sister) and their two kids have just moved to Princeton. Andrew heads up his own company
and relocated it to Princeton for the beauty and excellent public schools.
I also spent time a couple of weeks ago with Mike Conroy in Avon, CT (where my husband grew up with
Mike). Mike is a very successful trial attorney in Hartford and is a partner at his law firm yet maintains the irreverent
style of which I am most proud.

CLASS OF 1989 SPRING 2009
Himraj Dang - Delhi, India February 2009
I’m in Delhi as before. Jeff Crandall ‘88 visited recently - it was a pleasure to meet up. I’m helping to build
environmental businesses - finally a comm? of personal interests 20 years after college. Keep meeting Madhar
Chari ‘90 in Madras and I love our discussions on music, as at college.
Mike Ballard - Tel Aviv, Israel February 2009
I accepted an invitation by Justine Klineman to meet her and her friends at Club Med resort, but instead I
found that I had been duped into attending a weeknd vacation retreat for the Obama- California campaign staff.
Confronted by Justine and fellow 89’s, Jenny Schofield Porteus and Jesse Berg and their respective husbands,
Brad Porteus and Jeffrey Walker, I was pestered with questions on how I could be a Republican (after
8 years of President Bush) and how I could support the McCain/Palin ticket, especially Palin as they were
not big fans of hers. Facing overwhelming odds, I held my own against their liberal agenda, and even Bill
O’Reilly could not have done better if he were stuck in a lifeboat with Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Steisand,
Rosie O’Donnell and Al Franken. I am just kidding. It was really a true pleasure seeing my old classmates,
who all look great by the way - certainly not like 40 yo’s, and we all had a great time, especially zip lining
where Justine overcame her fears and kicked butt ziplining over tree tops.
BABY NEWS
Susan McCormack, who lives in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, welcomed twins on Nov. 26th, 2008. Margaret
Rose and Patrick Richard join big sister Eleanor Marie.
Kara Kelly Milner and David Milner had a baby girl, Frieda Kathleen on December 5, 2008. Frieda is Kara
and David’s third child and is welcomed by big brother Teo and big sister Elise. The Milners live in Rhode
Island.
Bill Dean and wife Christine also recently had twins. Bill and Christine had two boys, Charles Barringer Dean
(Charlie) and Jake Bradley Dean, born on January 12th.
Casey Engelman Livingston and husband Tom were happy to announce the birth of their daughter,
Hayden Park Livingston on February 27th, in Chicago, IL. Hayden joins big brother Will and big sister
Avery.

FACEBOOK NEWSLETTER POSTINGS
Did you know we have a newsletter section on our Facebook Page? For those of you who aren’t on Facebook
or simply haven’t checked out our class page, below are some interesting updates from classmates...
Ross O’Brien - Hong Kong 3/16/09
Greetings classmates, long-lost, otherwise. I live on a remote beach on a corner of Lantau off Hong Kong, one
with an occassion patina of labour-intensive manufacturing effluvia from down Pearl River Delta-way. Thanks
to the ass-whooping recent economic conditions have delivered unto Chinese exports, my family and I now
kayak and skimboard in relatively untoxic waters. Huzza. We grow guavas, soursop and banannas, and trade
them for sweet potatoes and lychees with villagers on occassion. We live without broadband because we are on
an isthmus too far from the local drop-point off the fiber optic cable that otherwise hugs all of Hong Kong in its
brawny, tender, information-intensive grasp.
This is ironic on many levels. Because we choose to live like medieval farmers off the grid of one of the whitest-hot
nodes of the global modernity matrix. Because I earn my living writing and speaking about communications
technology and its impact on Asia’s economy, and I have to hike over mountains for an hour and a half for
GPRS reception. I work for The Economist--not the ‘newspaper’ itself, but a teeny, glamour-free, B2B quasiconsulting
arm of it; I translate the Economist into PowerPoint. My wife is a speech therapist and runs great
distances at speed. My two children have more passports than pets. That said, they have two loyal dogs they
coaxed off the mountains as feral pups. In addition to taming wild beasts, my children are skilled at tree climbing,
challah-baking, extreme scootering, swimming in flooded nullahs, skipping school and memorizing the Just
So Stories.
Elizabeth Joynt - Arizona 3/10/09
Mike and I are living in Yuma Arizona with our four kids, Matt (12), Tom (10), Anna (7), and Jackson (6). Mike
is an LCMS Pastor for a congregation of 150. Beth is teaching middle school algebra and science part-time. We
look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
Heidi Reich - New York 3/8/09
I’m responding although it’s going to sound as if my green card got lost ten years ago, I’m so behind on my
achievements...I teach math in public high school here in NYC, I’m engaged, and I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics
education at Teachers College. I don’t have any kids. I just turned 40. I think I’m going to reunion.
Steve Blank - Minnesota 3/7/09
Rebecca (Slisz ‘95, my wife) and I are still in Saint Paul, MN, where we moved in late 2004. We’ve seen Joe
McRae and Rob Albright from time to time at club events, but have seen very little of Kara Benson, Bridget
Hust, or Bill Dean...
I returned to choral singing with the VocalEssence Chorus, following a 5 year hiatus while I kept busy with fulltime
work and part-time school. We’ve also spent some time running as we trained for a few marathons over the
last 3-4 years. Our running club (Minnesota RED - Running, Eating & Drinking), has been a great help in this
as there are many fun and interesting people to help pass the hours/miles on the great roads, paths and trails in
the area.
I continue working for GE, now in the Water & Process Technologies business. It’s a fascinating business with a
wide range of products that are useful all around the world.
We’re looking forward to seeing folks at reunion in June!

Eric Berlin - Chicago 3/5/09
Still in Chicago at Jones Day. Laura is doing well. She is a part owner of a yarn/knitting store called Chix
with Stix. (They rejected my slogan: It’s safe to exchange needles here.) She also has been putting her Ph.D.
to use transcribing scientific articles into lay terms. Olivia just turned 12 and got her ears pierced. Abraham is
the starting goalie for the Oak Park Gold Mites travel hockey team. Our exchange student Maria, from Finland,
has been enjoying living in the U.S.A. and will get to see the best U.S. college in June! I have taken a hiatus
from racing competitively. I remain busy with work, my band Message To Yoko, with civic commitments
(on the Board of Directors for the Better Government Association and the Associate Board for the University
of Chicago’s Gastro-Intestinal Research Foundation, and serve as the co-leader for the IBD Support Foundation’s
Chicago support group), and of course enjoying watching my kids participate in dance and hockey.
Congratulations to Matt Garber, who was chosen to serve as one of twenty hospital-based pediatricians helping
to shape the future of that practice, and Dave Kully, who was promoted within the DOJ Antitrust Division.
While in NYC for a deposition, I had dinner with John Britton, who is a new dad! I’m looking forward to
reunion!
Jen Lois - Washington 3/4/09
I am still a sociology professor at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA (been here for almost
9 years). I teach and research in the areas of gender, social psychology/emotions, and deviant behavior. I just
received sabbatical for next year to work on a book about my research with homeschooling mothers--excited
about not having any teaching responsibiliites for a whole year! The book will come out sometime in 2011
(on New York University Press, which also published my first book, a participant-observation study of a volunteer
search and rescue group).
Family is good. My husband is a science teacher and our flexible summer schedules are serving us well, especially
as our kids, Calvin, 6, and Marti, 3, get locked into the school-year calendar (even though I research it,
we don’t homeschool). We love the Pacific Northwest (we are 15 miles from Canada and on the coast), so we
find lots of adventures to take, although it is far from family, who are all still back East.
Last year I caught up with several classmates: Kelly MacMillan, who is an OB/GYN in NH; Anne Davis,
who is a lawyer in DC, and Tico Santana, who works for Pepsi in the ‘burbs of NYC. All of them are doing
great and have wonderful families! And Facebook has reconnected me with lots of other friends! It’s been SO
GREAT to hear from you all--write me!
Libby Carrier Doran - Minnesota 3/4/09
Let’s see. I may be our class’ eldest mother at 42. We welcomed child #3, Davis (named for my grandfather,
Joshua Davis, Dartmouth class of ‘27 and All American Football Player), on Halloween. He joins brother TC
(5.5) and sister Evie (almost 4). My other child, consulting practice To Point B, is growing nicely as well. We
help mid and small sized companies with strategic planning, organizational design, and talent management
(read: HR) practices. D.D. Burlin and her crew road tripped to Minneapolis in February for a Lego extravaganza
and ice skating on our city lakes. She reintroduced me and my husband to whiskey sours, for which I
will be forever grateful. (See above statement about new baby.)
Harmeet Kaur Dhillon - California 3/4/09
I enjoyed a slightly less hectic schedule for a few weeks after completing my run for California State Assembly
in November (we didn’t win -- this time!) and returing to my law practice in San Francisco, learning how
to sail, and traveling near and far (Costa Rica and rural Humboldt County/the Mendocino Coast). In addition
to continuing my law practice and serving as Chair of the Civil Rights Committee of the South Asian Bar Association,
I’m the new statewide Chair of Coalitions for the California Republican Party.
I’m looking forward to the reunion and seeing some of you for the first time in two decades.....

Doug MacGinnitie - Sandy Springs, Georgia 3/4/09
Here’s some news on what I’m doing with my life.
Doug MacGinnitie, currently a member of the Sandy Springs City Council, is the first Republican to officially
file with the State Ethics Commission as a candidate for Georgia Secretary of State in 2010.
In addition to his experience on the Sandy Springs City Council, MacGinnitie has been a successful entrepreneur
and attorney for some of Georgia’s most prominent businesses.
“After much prayer and consultation with family and friends, I have decided to legally start my campaign
for Secretary of State,” said MacGinnitie. “Under Karen Handel’s leadership, we’ve seen tremendous reform
and progress in the office of Secretary of State. I plan to build on that momentum, applying my conservative
principles and private sector experience to state government.“
MacGinnitie co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer for Beecher Carlson, a commercial insurance
brokerage firm based in Atlanta. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Emory Law School, worked as
an associate at Alston & Bird, was the Chief Counsel for Georgia Pacific, and served as General Counsel for
Hobbs Group.
“Many Georgians know how important the Secretary of State’s office is to ensuring fair elections, but many
don’t know that the office touches every large and small business in our state. In these tough economic
times, we must work even harder to ensure the Secretary of State’s office is efficient and business-friendly so
our state can continue to attract economic development and create jobs,” said MacGinnitie.
Doug attended elementary and high school in DeKalb County, Georgia. He and his wife, Missy, have three
children and are members of Dunwoody United Methodist Church.
Clay Nichols - Texas 3/4/09
The good news is I have a book coming out, the bad news is I have a book coming out.
The book is being published by Quirk/Chronicle and is an outgrowth of my web show, It’s titled “The
DadLabs Guide to Fatherhood: Pregnancy and Year One.” I co-authored it with the three other guys that help
host and make the shows at http://www.DadLabs.com. It’s very goofy, and we hope a little useful (both the
book and the show.)
The bad news is that, being a book about fatherhood, it’s being released on FATHER’S DAY. That would be
SUNDAY, JUNE 21. That would be when all the events and media crapola happens. And if that date isn’t
ringin’ any bells for ya’, that also happens to be our REUNION WEEKEND. So thanks to this stupid book, I
won’t be seeing you good people in June.
I guess the good news is that I can now quit this stupid diet. Which is killing me.
I’m in Austin with my wife Kim and our 3 kids (Wilson 10, Riley 7, Cooper 4). Coming for SXSW? Please
ping me!
Liz Bleich Davis - Massachusetts 3/4/09
I am really enjoying my new job as the Director of Academic Technology at Belmont Hill School. This all
boys school often reminds me of Dartmouth - I’ve gone back to wearing my Dartmouth ring for strength and
courage.
I recently reconnected with Jenny Marrus (Kochman), she came in to Boston and we had a beer together.
It was wonderful to catch up. Nancy Obler also found me recently and we have been catching up over
email.
My family is great, Ben is 6 and Abby is 4 years old. I’m looking forward to bringing them up to Dartmouth
for reunion in June.

CLASS OF 1989 SPRING 2009
J.J. Adler - New Jersey 3/4/09
After working for the last ten years as a talent agent in New York, I’ve changed careers entirely and am
now working as a Director of Development for Rutgers University’s School of Arts and Sciences. Admittedly,
not the best economic environment to be working as a fundraiser... but then again, I figure that if
I can learn the ropes and succeed in the midst of an economic crisis, I ought to be just fine when things
improve. Many thanks to Nancy Bernard Felix, who provided me with a terrific sounding board as I was
considering making this transition happen.
Still living in Hoboken with my wife, Jessica, and our 3 1/2-year-old daughter, Ryan. Haven’t travelled
much recently aside from the annual family pilgrimage to go fishing on Lake Gananoque in Canada and
some return trips to Hanover... which is easy for us, since my parents live in Norwich and Ryan loves to go
visit her Nana and Grampa. Did go to Portland, OR for a week and a half in ‘07 to celebrate my 40th birthday...
hiked the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood (stayed at the Timberline Lodge), and then spent some
time in the Willamette Valley drinking some spectacular wines. And I have to say, not only does the Portland
area host some amazingly good vineyards but I don’t think there’s any bad food anywhere in the city.
If you ever go, have to search out Voodoo Donuts. Absolutely decadent, but unlike any other donut shop
I’ve ever seen. And be prepared for massive sugar shock.
As to reconnecting to other fellow ‘89s, I’ve traded emails and comments on Facebook with Ken Redler,
Tressa Munoz, Dijon Gayle, Ned Ward, and a few other classmates... and I am definitely looking forward
to reunion, where I hope to catch up with more!
HAVE YOU JOINED FACEBOOK
YET?
It is a great way to reconnect, or maintain those renewed acquaintances after catching up at reunion.
There are a great number of our classmates as members and we have a great class group
page which you can locate by searching for Dartmouth Class of 1989.

CLASS OF 1989 SPRING 2009
News from the Chris/Kris and Davids
Thanks to all the Chris, Kris and David’s who answered my call for news. It is great to get updates from those
of you we have not heard from in a while. We received some great responses from a variety of people from far
flung corners of the world!
Chris Gates
Kristen Piscano/Casale is happily being a mommy to twins, Grace and Christopher, as well as an eye-ball doctor
of moving north - to northern Maine... and though she didn’t tell me ... I spotted an Optho text on a desk at my
work and she was one of the authors !! Isn’t that cool...
Christoher Maher is working in NYC - he is the president of his company ( the only president I know of) ...
and is living in Darien CT - with his lovely wife Steph and their very photogenic girls Charlotte and Olivia.
As for me - I am happily living in Portland, Maine with my husband Matt and our two beautiful boys Zach (3)
We’re on quite an adventure these days, on a 6-month sabbatical in Ecuador. The family blog listed below has
photos and info. Our daughters, age 8 and 13, are attending an Ecuadorian school, my husband, Paul Blackburn
‘88, is doing volunteer work with a nonprofit here, and I’m doing a some of medical work, catching up on my
reading, and minding the home front for a change. Everyone’s Spanish is improving quickly, particularly the
girls who showed up speaking essentially none…
My letter to NPR’s podcast Planet Money got published on their website, “From a Village Somewhere in the
Amazon.” One of the hosts made a comment in January about having to go “to a village somewhere in the
Amazon” to find someone who hadn’t heard of a subprime mortgage. So when we were down there I checked
around. He was right. The tourist economy in particular, and the Ecuadorian economy in general are feeling the
pinch of the worldwide recession, but people here don’t understand the inner workings. Does anyone?
Ecuador’s feeling like a decent place to be right now -- moderately out of touch with the day-to-day workings
of the crisis at home. Part of the reason for our trip was for all of us to see and experience how 2/3 of the
world lives. I’m finding it hard to worry over stock prices when people around us are hoping for the basics like
shoes, meat, dental care, schoolbooks, and a metal roof to keep it all dry. Unitarian Universalist minister Forrest
Church has written about his three principles for a joyous life: Want what you have. Do what you can. Be who
you are. Turns out maybe that’s all we can really be responsible for.
We’re looking forward to the arrival of Chuck Wooster and Sue Kirincich ’92 later this week for a 2-week
visit. They’re coming from their farm in Hartford, VT. Sue’s in between sessions of the yoga classes she teaches,
and Chuck’s able to leave the organic farm in the winters, so we’ll all have company and someone to speak
English with besides each other!
I was married to K.C. Swanson of Peoria, IL last September. We reside in Beijing, where I continue to research
and speak about the history of the Great Wall. I am now working with the photographer Jonathan Ball
on a project to photograph sixteenth-century Great Wall battle sites from the perspective of Mongol raiders or
Chinese defenders, on the anniversary of the original battles. Look for our very large photos (1 x 5-8 meters!)
in a museum or gallery near you . . .
David Kinsley What to say? Working in the family business and loving it, life revolves around our two little
ones (a six year old princess and a three year old pirate), moving to West Hartford, CT in the next few months.
I’m sorry I won’t be able to make it to the 20th reunion. It has been great reconnecting with D-folk on Facebook….
Chris DeFrancis
I still live in Northampton, Massachusetts, with my wife Jennifer Gross (Brown ‘89), and our two children,
Amelia (10) and Oscar (7). Carrying on from my days as a Dartmouth skier, I help organize and coach a
youth cross-country ski team in the Berkshires. I constantly run into other former Dartmouth skiers who are
coaches or parents in the New England youth nordic skiing community, which is great fun. This past weekend,
our club hosted the annual, season ending festival/racing event, with over 360 youth skiers from Maine,
New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts visiting our home course in Windsor, Massachusetts. Skiing
tradition runs deep at Dartmouth, and it is really cool as a parent and coach to see so many Dartmouth friends -
Max Cobb (‘87 I think), Steve Hochman (‘88), and Jay Davis (‘90) - sharing their passion for skiing with their
own children and all of the kids they coach.
I have attached a photo of my daughter Amelia racing this past Saturday at the festival.
Christopher Pollard
Cheryl and I just celebrated our daughter’s first birthday. My 2 1/2 year old son did a good job helping her
open her presents and blow out her candle!
Chris Drew
Don’t have much to report other than we had another child-Nicholas back in Oct. My wife is Brazilian so we
get to Brazil annually. If anyone wants tips on what to see and do they should contact me.

Dave Heisterkamp
I just spent a few days on St. Pete beach with fellow ‘89s and Gamma Delts, Derek Hansel, Mike Pfrommer
and Everett McCassey. We completed our annual mini-reunion someplace warmer and dryer than Stowe this
year. Made an extensive tour of the beach-side drinking establishments and compared notes on entering the
Facebook generation of connectivity. Noticeably absent from the gathering were Dave Green (spending a year
working with his family in Gent, Belgium), Rob Clark (purportedly too busy in his domestic relations law
practice), Kenji Cunnion (getting used to being a Dad to his youngest new addition), Rob Feinstein (MIA in
the world of NY asset management), and Walter Colsman (whose sense of timing is so bad he called us while
we were on the beach to ask which weekend the trip was planned for!). Some of these miscreants, their better
halves, and progeny should be in attendance at the big reunion in June.
Chris Whitman
I have been living in London for the past two years with wife Faith, Quinn (8), Lily (6) and Maddy (4), having
moved here in early 2007. I am the Treasurer of Deutsche Bank, which essentially means that I’ve been dealing
24/7 with the global financial / banking crisis for most of the time I’ve been here. Key responsibilities have
been managing the Bank’s liquidity, funding and capital positions, which in normal times are fairly mundane
topics, but which have become near-daily front-page news topics. We have greatly enjoyed our time in London
so far and have “gone native”, becoming huge fans of English Premier League football. In fact, we’re seasonticket
holders at Fulham FC, whose historic-registered Craven Cottage home ground sits Thames-side in southwest
London and is effectively the Fenway Park of the Premier League. We’re also semi-regulars at Chelsea
FC’s Stamford Bridge. For true locals, that combo would be incompatible, but we don’t have lifetimes of cross-
SW6-postal-code hatred to influence our allegiances.
Within Deutsche Bank, I periodically bump into fellow ‘89s Allison Polley Hirsch, Sanjeev Punjabi and
Michael Hafner. I’ve done some Dartmouth recruiting with Allison, who works in equity sales in Boston.
Sanjeev is a recently-minted Managing Director, based in NY; we’re counting on his Loan Exposure Management
Group, which has hedged its risks far above industry norms to help us navigate the credit crisis. Michael
is an energy banker based in Houston, and in true small-world fashion, we met up in London this morning after
not seeing each other for 7-8 years. We are also being joined by newly arriving ‘89 Eric Heaton who will be
leading our banking effort for depositary institutions. Eric arrived in high-profile fashion from the recentlyconsummated
BofA/Merrill Lynch transaction. Interestingly, Eric had most recently been Treasurer of Merrill
Lynch, so he and I will have interesting notes to compare. That makes two Treasurers of top 10 global investment
/ universal banks from the Dartmouth Class of ‘89. Not sure any other college can claim two, much less
any other college class. And we both began our roles in 2007, just in time for the crisis, so, as a friend of mine
said, how’s that for welcome-to-the-NFL.

I also stay in close touch with Jim Barton and Corey Pinkston. Jim is living in (his and my hometown)
Memphis with his wife Alison, Annsley (8), James (5) and Ali (2). Jim works in marketing at acclaimed
equity value manager Southeastern Asset Management, whose mutual fund arm is Longl eaf Partners.
Jim still thinks the college basketball three-point line is too close. Corey lives in Atlanta with his wife
Alicia, Chloe (11ish) and Annabelle (8). Corey works in finance at GMAC and has also been living the
financial crisis 24/7. Importantly, Corey has been the architect of mega-billion debt restructurings at both
GMAC and its wholly-owned mortgage subsidiary ResCap, providing key lifelines in recent quarters to
both companies.
Chris Maher
I live in Darien, CT with my wife Stephanie (Babson grad) and my two daughters—Charlotte and Olivia
(they are five and half and almost three). I live in the same neighborhood as Dennis Morgan (89) and
Jim Murphy (90) and see them a bit. I commute to Manhattan for work and spend as much time with my
girls outside of work. We are hoping to get up for reunion in June and looking forward to seeing our fellow
‘89s and catching up.
David Irwin
My wife Kim and I have lived in Elm Grove, WI since 2002. We named our kids Henry and Lucy because
that is what Juli and John Tantum named theirs, and I always thought JT was a really smart fellow.
Work wise, I am managing an offshore IT services business at Fiserv, Inc. We often see ‘88’s Shekhar
Sane and Tom Demerit and their families here in Wisconsin, and Kari and Mike Stutz and Laura and
Eric Berlin in Chicago. On a recent business trip to Boston I got to check out the Bonnie & Ted Henderson’s
front-yard ice rink in Dover, MA, and was impressed by the music, painting, and hockey talents
of the Hendo progeny. Last but not least, a few weeks ago, Michael Hafner came through Milwaukee,
which seemed to justify having a couple beers over a Friday lunch. I am a maybe for Reunion, and will
try to make it work.
LETTER FROM THE EDITORS:
Reunion is upon us! Both Jennifer and I have enjoyed being your newsletter editors over these past 5
years. Both of us had new babies during this tenure adding another level of interest and joy to our family
life.....and I feel like the past year has started shifting us in some new, more interesting (and greener!)
directions in terms of the newsletter. We had a great newsletter Editor conference call with all the classes
from the 80’s to share ideas and problems, find solutions and work toward moving more into the electronic
age without cutting out those of you who still like to open up your mailbox to the class newsletter.
Moving forward we have a fresh new take and overhaul of our old standard, so we hope you approve.
Please keep your suggestions coming...we welcome them whether it’s email, green card (snail mail/ electronic),
or facebook!
