OFFICE FOR INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
The Office for International Visitors facilitates the
requests for meetings and short-term visitors to Stanford
University by international scholars, scientists, university
and public delegations, and other official visitors to the
campus. We are happy to provide this service to the
university.
The OIV is extremely pleased with our relationship with
the President’s Office, the Hoover Institution, the Institute
for International Studies, Stanford Center for Innovations
in Learning, to name a few. Each year our programming
is strengthened by the relations we have formed with
the many departments at Stanford. We continue to
carefully arrange programs for our visitors with the most
appropriate people and for the benefit and interest of all
concerned. Though we welcome feedback from faculty
and staff, the best indication that we are doing our job
well, is that faculty and staff continue to meet with our
visitors when asked.

Program Accomplishments:
• The OIV, collaborating with the International
Diplomacy Council in San Francisco, was
awarded two State Department fee-for-service
programs, one for Bulgarian IT Specialists to be
trained in entrepreneurial techniques and the
other for Macedonian NGO leaders on conflict
resolution. These two programs brought
$7,000.00 to our budget. Additional fee-forservice
added $2,700.00 for a total of $9,700.00.
• A successful tech grant was written for $849.00
which allowed us to purchase a new eMac
computer to better implement IEMS. We are
starting to download programs and soon will
