Vita Adam Alexander Libson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 9 June 1982, the son of Jeffrey Paul Libson and Dr. Christian Alexander Libson. He attended school at Friends’ Central School and graduated in 2000. While in high school, he spent the 1998-1999 academic year in Rennes, France with School Year Abroad. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Carleton College in 2004, graduating Magna Cum Laude with distinction. He spent the fall semester of 2002 in Budapest, Hungary with Budapest Semesters in Mathematics. He applied to the University of Texas at Austin for enrollment in the physics program in 2005, and began his graduate studies that summer.
