Hanne Lund Madsen
Mrs Hanne Lund Madsen is Senior Adviser at Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD)
established by the Danish Parliament in 2010. She is responsible for the overall democracy support
provided in partnerships with political parties and for the Myanmar Multiparty Democracy Programme.
Having served as an adviser in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and having acted as consultant to
governments, NGOs and donors she has extensive experience within democratic governance in more
than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America, the Balkans and the Pacific. Hanne holds a Master of
Science in International Development & Geography from Denmark and a Master in International Human
Rights Law and Humanitarian Law from Sweden.
Karijn de Jong
Mrs Karijn de Jong is Senior Programme Manager at the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy
(NIMD) based in The Hague. She is responsible for strategic planning, policy development and
institutional fundraising and manages the programmes in Uganda and Myanmar. She has extensive
experience in working on democratisation, good governance, the rule of law, budget support, public sector
reform, electoral assistance, constitutional and legal reform and support to civil society in Africa. Prior to
joining NIMD, she worked in Kenya and Ghana for 5 years for the British Department for International
Development (DfID). Karijn has a legal background with a specialization in European and International
Law.
